D. VERIFICATION OF DIMENSIONS AND GRADES, BOTH EXISTING AND PROPOSED, SHALL
BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF WORK. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE OWNER AND PROJECT ENGINEER OF DISCREPANCIES

H. PLANTING SOIL MIX TO BE USED FOR THE PROJECT SHALL BE FERTILE,
WELL -DRAINED, OF UNIFORM QUALITY, FREE OF STONES OVER 1" IN DIAMETER,
STICKS, OILS, CHEMICALS, PLASTER, CONCRETE, AND OTHER DELETERIOUS MATERIAL
I. ALL SEEDED GRASS AREAS SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM OF 6" DEPTH OF SOIL MIX. ALL
TREES AND PLANTING BEDS SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM OF 36" (3') DEPTH OF SOIL
MIX.
J. ALL TREES AT TIME OF PLANTING SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM CALIPER AS NOTED ON
THE PLANT SCHEDULE WHEN MEASURED 6' ABOVE GROUND LEVEL. ALL SHRUBS AT
TIME OF PLANTING SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM HEIGHT OF 18".
K. PLANTS TO BE BALLED IN BURLAP OR CONTAINER GROWN AS SPECIFIED IN PLANT
SCHEDULE. PLASTIC RUDE WRAPPING MATERIAL AND METAL WIRE BASKETS SHALL
BE REMOVED COMPLETELY.
L. CONTRACTOR SHALL PLACE TREES AND SHRUBS AND HAVE THE LAYOUT APPROVED
BY PROJECT ENGINEER PRIOR TO PLANTING. ALL TREES AND SHRUBS TO BE PLACED
MINIMUM 3' FROM BACK OF CURB.
M. PLANTING RESTRICTIONS: PLANT DURING ONE OF THE FOLLOWING PERIODS.
COORDINATE PLANTING PERIODS TO PROVIDE REQUIRED MAINTENANCE FROM DATE

SOILS TEST, BY BROADCASTING ENTIRE PLANTING AREAS. FERTILIZER IS TO HAVE
NO LESS THAN 10% AVAILABLE PHOSPHORIC ACID, 3% TOTAL NITROGEN AND 3%
SOLUBLE POTASH. FOLLOW MANUFACTURER'S RATE RECOMMENDATIONS.
L. CONTRACTOR SHALL WATER ALL PLANTS & TREES IMMEDIATELY AFTER PLANTING.
FLOOD PLANTS TWICE DURING THE FIRST 24 HOURS AFTER PLANTING. CONTRACTOR
SHALL PROVIDE ALL WATER FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF LANDSCAPING. GRASSED AREAS
SHALL BE IN LUSH, HEALTHY CONDITION. BARE SPOTS SHALL BE TOP -DRESSED AND
SEEDED.
M. NEW TREES TO BE SPRAYED WITH ANTI -DESICCANT WITHIN 24 HOURS AFTER
PLANTING.
N. INITIAL MAINTENANCE SERVICE: PROVIDE FULL MAINTENANCE BY SKILLED EMPLOYEES
OF LANDSCAPE INSTALLERS. BEGIN MAINTENANCE AFTER EACH AREA IS PLANTED
AND CONTINUE UNTIL PLANTINGS ARE ACCEPTABLY HEALTHY AND WELL
ESTABLISHED.
0. ROAD AND WALK SURFACES SHALL BE KEPT CLEAR OF MUD AND DEBRIS AT ALL
TIMES AND CLEANED AT THE END OF EACH DAY.
P. CONTRACTOR SHALL REPAIR IN -KIND ANY AREAS DAMAGED AS A RESULT OF
LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION.
Q. ALL EXCESS MATERIALS RESULTING FROM LANDSCAPE WORK SHALL BE LEGALLY
DISPOSED OF OFFSITE BY CONTRACTOR.
R. IN EXISTING PLANTING BEDS, AS NOTED ON PLAN, CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ALL
WEEDS, PRUNE EXISTING PLANT MATERIAL, AND TOP -UP MULCH.
S. CONTRACTOR SHALL WARRANT ALL PLANT MATERIAL UNDER THIS CONTRACT TO BE
HEALTHY AND IN FLOURISHING CONDITIONS OF ACTIVE GROWTH ONE YEAR FROM
SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION, UNTIL FINAL ACCEPTANCE.
