Please exercise caution and Do Not open attachments or click links from unknown senders or unexpected email. **** Good morning Joe, I'm writing in opposition to the proposed variances requested by Brenwick on behalf of Family Express Corp. The variances asking to reduce the stacking of cars will create a safety concern. The area does not allow enough space for cars entering from Towne Rd. As a result, this will back up onto Towne Rd. Families walk, bike, skate and jog in that area. Safety is the concern. When cars exit onto Towne Rd., they cannot go North on Towne. This forces them to go South to the nearest roundabout and then head North on Towne. The roundabout is already a safety issue because of the number of walkers and bicycles using it to go East to West and West to East on Glebe Street. Many school children from Creekside Middle School use this crossing. The city of Carmel has recently tried to lessen this safety issue by putting signs alerting cars of the pedestrian crossing. Second, the variance requesting a move of the gas pumps & canopy from the rear of the building to the front, would move the build-to-line of the convenience store and push it back to the cottages of Stratford. The health risk to the residents who live there, because of the exposure to the vents that release benzene and methane vapors, is not fair. Further, the building is not compliant with the architectural guidelines of the Village of West Clay. We all have had to adhere to these guidelines. Thank you for your time and consideration of our concerns. Constance Schwartz Sent from my iPhone 1
