GENERAL NOTES FOR NEW WORK
1. ALL WORK SHALL BE DONE IN WORKMAN LIKE MANNER AND IN
CONFORMANCE WITH MANUFACTURER'S INSTALLATION AND
WARRANTY REQUIREMENTS.
2. ALL WORK TO BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE
LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDER4L AUTHORITIES, RULES, REGULATIONS &
CODES.
3. ALL DIMENSIONS AND FIELD CONDITIONS SHALL BE VERIFIED. ANY
DISCREPANGES IN DIMENSIONS, CONDITIONS, OR DOCUMENTS
SHALL BE BROUGHT IMMEDIATELY TO THE ARCHITECT'S ATTENTION.
4. CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE ALL NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO
PROTECT ALL EXISTWG MATERIALS, SURFACES, & EQUIPMENT TO
REMAIN.
5. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE LIABLE FOR, AND TAKE ALL PRECAUTIONS
NECESSARY TO PROTECT ALL EQUIPMENT AND BUILDING FROM
DUST, VIBRATIONS AND WATER DAMAGE.
6. ANY UNFORESEEN OR UNCLEAR CONDITIONS SHALL BE REPORTED
TO THE ARCHITECT AND OWNER PRIOR TO PROCEEDING WITH WORK.
7. REMOVE ALL DEBRIS PROPERLY FROM SITE. ALL DEMOLISHED
MATERIAL, EXCEPT THAT LISTED OR MARKED BY ARCHITECT FOR
RETENTION, SHALL BECOME THE PROPERTY OF THE CONTRACTOR.
LOAD DEMOLISHED MATERIAL DIRECTLY ON TRUCKS OR INTO
DUMPSTER, DISPOSE OF DEBRIS LEGALLY. DO NOT BURN ON SITE.
DO NOT ALLOW DEBRIS TO ENTER SEWERS OR ROOF DRAINS. DO

THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN AND PAY FOR ALL PERMITS,
REQUIRED BY ALL AGENCIES AND AUTHORITIES HAVING
JURISDICTION FOR THE WORK INCWDED IN THIS CONTRACT. PERMIT
SHALL BE CONSPICUOUSLY POSTED AT JOB SITE.
THE CONTRACTOR IS SPECIFICALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL MEANS
AND METHODS OF JOB SITE SAFETY.
CONTRACTOR SHALL ENSURE THAT NUMBER NOTES ARE READ IN
CONJUNCTION WITH A NUMBER NOTE EXPLANATION, I.E., EACH
SHEET SHOULD NOT BE READ IN ISOLATION BY THE CONTRACTOR'S
WORKMEN OR HIS SUBCONTRACTORS.
ANY CONFLICTS IN THE DRAWINGS OR SPECIFICATIONS, OR BETWEEN
DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS, SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE
IMMEDIATE ATTENTION OF THE ARCHITECT. THE CONTRACTOR
SHALL NOT PROCEED WITH WORK UNTIL WRITTEN CLARIFICATION OF
CONFLICTS IS RECEIVED FROM THE ARCHITECT.
ALL EXISTING RATED WALLS, ROORS, CEILINGS, OR SHAFTS MUST BE
MAINTAINED THROUGHOUT NEW CONSTRUCTION, AND ANY
PENETRATIONS OR INTERRUPTIONS MADE TO THESE RATED
SYSTEMS MUST BE REPAIRED TO MAINTAIN RATING.
THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATION OF ALL
TRADES, FOR COORDINATION OF ALL TESTING AND INSPECTIONS
NECESSARY, AND FOR DELIVERY & STORAGE OF ALL MATERIALS
NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CLEAN SITE AFTER CONSTRUCTION IN A
MANNER CONSISTENT WITH THE CONDITIONS THAT EXISTED PRIOR
TO CONSTRUCTION.
THE OWNER ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE CONDITIONS OF
EXISTING MATERIALS THAT ARE TO BE REMOVED OR DEMOLISHED.
NEW WORK PLAN NOTES
9: PAINTING AND STAINING FINISHES
9.50 CLEAN AND TOUCH UP STAIN ALL WOOD FINISH DOORS,
EXISITNG WOOD MILLWORK, WOOD PIERS, WOOD BASE AND
WOOD TRIM SURFACES TO PROVIDE NICK & SCRATCH FREE,
CONSISTENT STAW COLOR AND TONE SURFACES,
TREATMENT NOT TO EXCEED 50% OF ALL SURFACES. TREAT
ALL SURFACES WITH LIGHT MINERAL SPIRIT SOLVENT TO
REMOVE DIRT, DUST AND GREASE. ALLOW DOORS TO DRY,
AND LIGHTLY SAND WITH "FINAL STRIPPING PADS", CLEAN
RESIDUE WITH "TACK CLOTH". TOUCH UP DOOR SURFACES
AND EDGES WITH MATCHING STAIN COLOR. FILL NICKS AND
DENTS WITH MATCHING WOOD PUTTY, SMOOTHED AND
SANDED TO BE FLUSH. APPLY A COAT OF CLEAR SATIN
MINWAX "POLYACRYLIC PROTECTIVE FINISH" USE A FOAM
APPLICATOR TYPE BRUSH, ALLOW 8 HOURS TO DRY. DOOR
LEVER HARDWARE TO REMAIN IN PLACE DURING REFINISHING,
PROTECT DOOR HARDWARE FROM RECEIVING STAIN OR
FINISH.
9.52 APPLY NEW THREE COAT PAINTING SYSTEM (PRIMER & TWO
FINISH COATS) TO ALL GYP. BRD. / PLASTER FINISH CEILINGS
(SEE FINISH SCHEDULE FOR COLORS AND SHEEN).
CONTRACTOR / INSTALLER SHALL ADHERE TO ALL
SPECIFICATIONS FOR INSTALLATION AS PROVIDED BY
"MARRIOTT INC." FOR APPLICATION OF PAINTING SYSTEMS.
9.58 APPLY NEW THREE COAT PAINTING SYSTEM (PRIMER & TWO
FINISH COATS) TO ALL ALREADY PAINTED GYP. BRD. / PLASTER
FINISH WALLS, SOFFITS, & BULKHEADS (SEE FINISH SCHEDULE
FOR COLORS AND SHEEN). CONTRACTOR / W STALLER SHALL
ADHERE TO ALL SPECIFICATIONS FOR INSTALLATION AS
PROVIDED BY "MARRIOTT INC." FOR APPLICATION OF PAINTING
SYSTEMS.
16: ELECTRICAL / LIGHTING
16.01 PROVIDE & INSTALL NEW OUTLETS AND COVER PLATES AT ALL
POWER , GFI, DATA, SWITCHING & DIMMER OUTLETS, AND
PHONE JACKS. COLOR TO BE WHITE.
