Info Packet (V) Ferguson Pool Setback Variance Docket No. PZ-2020-00138 V) UDO Section 5.02.C.7 3-ft pool/decking setback from easements required, 10-1t encroachment proposed. Jon &Amanda Ferguson 14332 Adios Pass (Village of Mt. Carmel, Lot 216). It is zoned S2/Residence. Project Introduction: My wife and I are planning to build a pool in our backyard. We've spent a lot of time considering the best placement of the pool to maximize the use of the yard. We would like to maximize green space for the kids to play while also being able to enjoy a pool. Additionally, we have several mature trees in the yard that we've had to consider for the placement of the pool. Variance Request: We are requesting Board of Zoning Appeals variance approval from UDO section 5.02.C.7 to encroach 10 feet onto a 30- ft easement for the pool location. Because the rear easement is so large, it creates a burden to add property improvements. Statement of Support: Encroaching 10 feet into the rear easement will allow for efficient use of the yard, eliminate the need to incur a costly expense to remove trees & move a playset, and result in a more aesthetically optimal placement of the pool in our yard. Carmel Engineering Department supports the encroachment request. Other Pertinent Information: The pool pump is a Jandy Variable Speed Pump. This is a direct wire not a plug-in 110 pump. Variable speed pumps are more energy efficient than single or dual speed pool pumps and they operate more quietly. i '4 r jd of AN 1 4 -tom owl As - 1 d f•, 3 aE- .:.-. m x O.L D. & U.E. U.E. D.E.
