The subject fire involved two (2) separate equestrian wood framed pole-barn structures that were constructed side-by-side (See Figure No. 1). Structure No. 1 was approximately 150’ x 60’ (≈9000 SF) in its overall size with a western concrete slab measuring 30’ x 60’. The remaining 7200 SF of floor consisted of a dirt floor for interior riding activities (See Figure Nos. 1 and 2). Structure No. 2 was a smaller barn structure located south of Structure No. 1, measuring approximately 80’ x 30’ (≈2400 SF) in its overall size, with most of the floor consisting of a concrete slab (See Figure Nos. 1 and 3). 2 The western concrete slab in Structure No. 1 was found to remain in a satisfactory condition with little to no spalling from heat exposure of the fire. The structural integrity of the concrete slab was found to be in a satisfactory condition and can be reutilized in the reconstruction of the structure (See Figure No. 2). The concrete slab within Structure No. 2 was also found to remain in a satisfactory condition with little to no effects from heat exposure of the fire. The slab has retained its structural properties and can also be reutilized in the reconstruction of the structure (See Figure No. 3). --- --- --- STRUCTURAL CERTIFICATION --- --- --- Based upon our inspection and analysis of the remaining concrete slabs from the large June 16 barn fire, it is our engineering opinion that the concrete slabs of both buildings remain in satisfactory conditions and can be reutilized in the reconstruction of the pole - barn structures. It should be noted that isolated concrete slab removal on Structure No. 2 will be required to access and rework slab plumbing penetrations that were affected by the fire and demolition.
