H. PREPARATION: CLEAN GLAZING CHANNELS AND OTHER FRAMING MEMBERS TO RECEIVE GLASS,

SUBSTRATES.
I. INSTALLATION:
1. INSTALLATION SHALL BE ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATIONS, AND
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR WORK BEING INSTALLED. PROVIDE GLAZING CLIPS, SETTING BLOCKS,
SHIMS, ACCESSORIES, ETC.
2. MAINTAIN 40 DEGREES F MINIMUM TEMPERATURE DURING APPLICATION OF SEALANTS.
3. GLAZE WORK IN ACCORD WITH TYPE OF SYSTEM INDICATED ABOVE. IF SASH DETAIL VARIES
FROM THAT INDICATED DO NOT PROCEED UNTIL PROPER PROCEDURE IS DETERMINED.
4. GLAZING TAPE: CUT TAPE TO PROPER LENGTH BEFORE APPLICATION, APPLY AGAINST
PERMANENT STOPS. SET HEAD AND SILL FIRST, USING FULL LENGTH PIECES, WELD CORNERS
TOGETHER BY TIGHTLY BUTTING TAPE. CRIMP BUTT JOINTS 3 TIMES TO INSURE WELD. SET
GLASS ON SETTING BLOCKS, ALIGN EDGES AND SHOVE HOME, PRESSING SECURELY INTO TAPE
TO INSURE CONTACT AND ADHESION AT ALL POINTS.
5. HEEL SEALING: APPLY HEEL BEAD OF SEALANT AROUND PERIMETER OF GLASS, MAINTAINING
3/16" MINIMUM BITE ON GLASS AND POSITIVE BOND TO SASH. COMPLETELY SEAL VOID AROUND
GLASS MAKE BEAD LARGE ENOUGH SO THAT IT PARTIALLY FILLS CHANNEL BETWEEN GLASS
AND REMOVABLE STOPS WHEN THEY ARE SET. INSTALL SNAP OR SCREW -ON STOPS AS
APPROPRIATE.
6. FACE SEALING: PLACE SPACER SHIMS OF PROPER THICKNESS SO THAT PRESSURE FROM STOP
TO GLASS IS MAINTAINED THRU SHIM AND SO THAT GLASS IS IN COMPRESSION AGAINST TAPE
SHIMS NOT LESS THAN 1/4" BELOW SITE LINE. SET REMOVABLE STOP AND FILL CHANNEL WITH
SEALANT TO SITE LINE.
7. REMOVE GLASS LABELS WHEN DIRECTED, AFTER INSPECTION BY ARCHITECT.
8. REPLACE CRACKED, BROKEN OR DEFECTIVE GLASS.
9. WASH GLASS BOTH INSIDE AND OUT, REMOVING PAINT SPOTS, PUTTY MARKS, ETC., LEAVING

FOR MAXIMUM DEFLECTION OF 1:360.
3. LOCATE SYSTEM ON ROOM AXIS ACCORDING TO REFLECTED CEILING PLANS.
4. PROVIDE HANGER CLIPS DURING STEEL DECK ERECTION. PROVIDE ADDITIONAL HANGERS AND
INSERTS AS REQUIRED.
5. HANG SUSPENSION SYSTEM INDEPENDENT OF WALLS, COLUMNS, DUCTS, PIPES AND CONDUIT
6. WHERE DUCTS OR OTHER EQUIPMENT PREVENT THE REGULAR SPACING OF HANGERS,
REINFORCE THE NEAREST AFFECTED HANGERS AND RELATED CARRYING CHANNELS TO SPAN
