1. The approval of this variance will not be injurious to the public health, safety, morals and general welfare of
the community because:
We are requesting a 6' fence along a busy Main Street for the purpose of restricting
noise and allowing children and pets to have a safe environment for play. This fence will
only positively impact the safety of our family.
2. The use and value of the area adjacent to the property included in the variance will not be affected in a
substantially adverse manner because:
The area in question is along Main Street. There is no adjacent property impacted. The
fence will run up to the fence owned by Carmel Clay Schools. Mr. Ron Farrand was in
support of this fence design as I described it to him.
3. The strict application of the terms of the Unified Development Ordinance to the property will result in
practical difficulties in the use of the property because:
The desire for a 6' fence along Main Street will assist with restricting sound from Main
Street, it will restrict line of sight into our main living space of our home from a busy street,
and will restrict the frequent pedestrians we have walk through the middle of our yard from
Carmel High School. This also allows us to have a functional yard for our small children.

It is therefore the decision•oj the Carmel Board of Zoning Appeals that Development Standards Variance Docket
No. Pz`20Z0-- Oa//yV is granted, subject to any conditions stated in the minutes of this Board,
which are incorporated herein by reference and made a//part hereof.
