ORDINANCE NO. D-2566-21
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA,
AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS
FROM THE OPERATING BALANCE OF THE GENERAL FUND TO THE 2021
DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY SERVICES BUDGET
Synopsis: Appropriates funds received from the Hamilton County Recorder’s Office for lien
payments that were deposited into the General Fund into the 2021 Department of Community
Services (“DOCS”) budget.
WHEREAS, throughout the last year DOCS has received payments from the Hamilton County
Recorder’s Office for lien payments totaling Five Thousand Two Hundred Ninety Three Dollars
($5,293.00) that were deposited into the City’s General Fund;
WHEREAS, the lien payment funds are needed by DOCS to pay expenses associated with lien
recording, as well as lawn mowing and property cleanup expenses associated with liened properties;
WHEREAS, the operating balance of the General Fund currently has excess funds in the
amount of Five Thousand Two Hundred Ninety Three Dollars ($5,293.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana,
that the following additional sum of money is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund Operating
Balance and for the purposes specified, subject to applicable laws, as follows:
$5,293.00 from the GENERAL FUND OPERATING Balances

Department of Community Services (#1192): Line item 43-406.00 – Recording Fees $1,293.00
Department of Community Services (#1192) Line item 43-509.00 – Other Cont. Services
$4,000.00
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, execution
by the Mayor.
