RE: Bedford Falls Conceptual Plan
We have reviewed the construction plans submitted to the Hamilton County Surveyor's Office on March
24, 2021, for this project and have the following comments:
1. The project falls in the incorporated area and MS4 jurisdiction of the City of Carmel.
2. The proposed project DOES NOT fall in a Carmel Wellhead Protection Zone.
3. The proposed project falls in the Williams Creek Regulated Drain Watershed.
4. The surrounding subdivisions currently have flood routes flowing onto this property from the
west. Flood protection measures for this project must take this into account.
5. Any farm tiles found during construction must be either removed or connected to the proposed
stormwater infrastructure. Any tiles which run offsite of the project must be connected to the
proposed infrastructure to prevent flooding of surrounding properties.
6. This project's drainage system is to be county regulated and will require the following procedural
items: Petition for regulated drain subdivision, engineer's estimate, and all associated bonds for
120% of construction cost.
7. If the landscaping plan is to include street trees, the Surveyor's Office will not be incorporating
the curbside sub -surface drains into our regulated system. Maintenance of these drains will be the
responsibility of the city of Carmel or Bedford Falls HOA.
8. I have uploaded the drainage calculations for the Centennial South subdivision which is directly
upstream of the proposed subdivision.
9. Please note, additional comments may be warranted at a later date.
Should you have any questions, I can be reached at Samuel.dark@hamiltoncounty.in.gov
Sincerely,
