2. 2" SOURCE AND AUXILIARY VALVES WITHIN OXYGEN ENCLOSURE.
3. 2" TYPE "L" COPPER TAKEOFF FROM AUXILIARY VALVE RISING AND INSTALLED TO EXTERIOR
FACE OF DUMPSTER ENCLOSURE IN PROTECTIVE PVC SLEEVE. PIPING EXTENDS ACROSS
FACE OF ENCLOSURE TO BUILDING, RISES AND PENETRATES EXTERIOR BUILDING WALL INTO
INTERIOR OF BUILDING ABOVE CEILING HEIGHT. CORING BY OTHERS. COPPER PIPING
SLEEVED THROUGH WALL PENETRATION. PENETRATION SEALED ON EXTERIOR AND
INTERIOR OF BUILDING WITH FIRESTOP CAULK.
4. 2" MAIN OXYGEN SHUTOFF VALVE FOLLOWED DOWNSTREAM BY OXYGEN HIGH/LOW
PRESSURE SWITCH WITH 0-100 PSI ANALOG PRESSURE GAUGE, INSTALLED WITH GAS
SPECIFIC DISS FITTING WITH DEMAND CHECK.
5. 2" TYPE "L" OXYGEN PIPING CONTINUES ABOVE CEILING HEIGHT TO LOCATION OF NEW ZONE
VALVE BOX. (REFER TO DETAIL 5, MG-2)
6. 2" TYPE "L" OXYGEN PIPING CONTINUES DOWN IN WALL TO NEW 2" ZONE VALVE AND, ON
DOWNSTREAM SIDE OF ZONE VALVE RISES IN WALL TO ABOVE CEILING HEIGHT.
7. PRESSURE SENSOR AND 0-100 PSI PRESSURE GAUGE INSTALLED TO EZBACK FITTING INSIDE
OF ZONE VALVE BOX ON DOWNSTREAM SIDE OF ZONE VALVE.
8. 2" TYPE "L" OXYGEN PIPING CONTINUES ABOVE CEILING HEIGHT TO NEAR SINGLE-CHAMBER
HYPERBARIC HEADWALL, TURNS AND EXTENDS TO NEAR DUAL-CHAMBER HYPERBARIC
HEADWALL WITH 1" TYPE "L" COPPER PIPING TAKEOFF AT TURN EXTENDING TO
SINGLE-CHAMBER HYPERBARIC HEADWALL, MAKING CONNECTION TO 1" OXYGEN PIPING
RISER ABOVE CEILING HEIGHT AT TOP OF HEADWALL. (FOR HEADWALL DETAIL REFER TO
DETAIL 1, 2, & 3 MG-2)
9. 2" PIPING EXTENDS TO NEAR DUAL CHAMBER HEADWALL, REDUCES TO 1" AND EXTENDS
AND MAKES CONNECTION TO TWO 1" OXYGEN PIPING RISERS ABOVE CEILING HEIGHT AT TOP
OF DUAL CHAMBER HEADWALL.
10. EACH HYPERBARIC CHAMBER IS INDIVIDUALLY VENTED TO THE EXTERIOR OF THE BUILDING,

11. THE INDIVIDUAL CHAMBER VENTS EXTEND OUT BUILDING EXTERIOR WALL, ARE TURNED
DOWN AND SCREENED FOR VERMIN. (REFER TO DETAIL 6, MG-3) . CORING BY OTHERS.
COPPER PIPING SLEEVED THROUGH WALL PENETRATION. PENETRATION SEALED ON
EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR OF BUILDING WITH FIRESTOP CAULK.
12. MEDICAL AIR CYLINDER WALL RESTRAINT BRACKETS ARE INSTALLED AT THE FOOT OF EACH
CHAMBER. WALL BACKING BY OTHERS. (REFER TO DETAIL 4 & 5, MG-2) MEDICAL AIR
CYLINDERS BY OTHERS.
13. LOW VOLTAGE SHIELDED, PLENUM RATED ALARM CABLE EXTENDS IN 1" CONDUIT A) FROM
OXYGEN SOURCE EQUIPMENT LIQUID LEVEL LOW SWITCH, RESERVE-IN-USE SWITCH, AND
RESERVE-LEVEL-LOW SWITCH TO COMBINATION MASTER/ALARM PANEL, B) FROM HIGH/LOW
PRESSURE SWITCH, AND C) FROM AREA PRESSURE SENSOR TO COMBINATION MASTER/AREA
ALARM PANEL LOCATED IN DUAL-CHAMBER HEADWALL. ALARM CONDUITS AND LANDING
ALARM SIGNALS ON SOURCE EQUIPMENT BY OTHERS. POWER TO ALARM PANEL BY OTHERS.

POINT OF CONNECTION
1. THESE DRAWINGS ARE DIAGRAMMATIC. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATING
WITH OTHER TRADES AND RE-ROUTING PIPING AS REQUIRED TO AVOID CONFLICTS WITH
OTHER TRADES.
2. CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL APPLICABLE STATE, LOCAL AND FEDERAL LAWS,
CODES AND SPECIFICATIONS.
3. ALL EQUIPMENT AND PIPING SHOWN ON THESE DRAWINGS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN
ACCORDANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE STATE, LOCAL AND FEDERAL CODES.
4. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE OWNER FURNISHED AND CONTRACTOR FURNISHED
EQUIPMENT ROUGH-INS AND CONNECTIONS WITH EQUIPMENT DRAWINGS AND SUPPLIER.
5. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE MEDICAL GAS DEVICES AT LOCATIONS, QUANTITIES AND TYPE
PER THE ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS AND ELEVATIONS, AND THE MEDICAL GAS DRAWINGS.
WHERE DISCREPANCIES MAY EXIST, USE THE MORE STRINGENT OF THE TWO. ALL DEVICES
ARE TO BE INSTALLED, TO INCLUDE NECESSARY PIPING OR WIRING, AS REQUIRED FOR
INTENDED OPERATION.
6. ALL MEDICAL GAS SYSTEMS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE TO NFPA 99, INCLUDING
ALL REQUIRED VALVES AND PRESSURE SWITCHES & PRESSURE SENSORS CONNECTED TO
APPROPRIATE ALARMS.
7. CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE WITH GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND ELECTRICIAN FOR
LOCATING AND INSTALLING ELECTRIC POWER TO SERVICE EACH ALARM PANEL, MEDICAL
GAS MANIFOLD AND MEDICAL EQUIPMENT TO INCLUDE MEDICAL AIR AND MEDICAL VACUUM
SYSTEMS AS APPLICABLE.
8. THE MEDICAL GAS INSTALLER SHALL FIRE STOP ALL PENETRATIONS TO THE ORIGINAL FIRE
RATING.
9. THE MEDICAL GAS INSTALLER SHALL BE CURRENTLY CERTIFIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASSE
6010
10. THE MEDICAL GAS INSTALLER SHALL NOT USE THEIR CERTIFICATION TO OVERSEE
INSTALLATION BY NON-CERTIFIED PERSONNEL.
11. ALL OXYGEN AND VENT PIPING SHALL BE ASTM B 819 TYPE "L" HARD DRAWN AND SEAMLESS
COPPER CLEANED AND CAPPED FOR OXYGEN USE.
12. FITTINGS SHALL BE CLEANED WROUGHT COPPER CAPILLARY FITTINGS COMPLYING WITH
ASME B16.22
13. ALL JOINTS SHALL BE BRAZED USING A BRAZING ALLOY EXHIBITING A MELTING
TEMPERATURE IN EXCESS OF 1,000 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT.
14. BRAZE JOINTS SHALL BE CONTINUOUSLY PURGED WITH OIL FREE, DRY NITROGEN NF.
CONTRACTOR'S NITROGEN REGULATOR SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH AN OPERATIONAL,
AUDIBLE LOW PRESSURE ALARM.
15. PIPING SHALL BE SUPPORTED FROM THE BUILDING STRUCTURE WITH HANGERS AND
SUPPORTS COMPLYING WITH AND INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH MSS-SP58.
16. ELECTRIC POWER, CORE DRILLING, PAINT, FINISHES, WALL, CEILING & ROOF OPENING /
CLOSING & REPAIRS, BY OTHERS.
17. MEDICAL GAS DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM EQUIPMENT PROVIDED & INSTALLED BY FRED EVANS
