Dear Mr. Shestak,
I am writing to ask you to vote in favor of the proposed amendment to the UDO language to make it mandatory that any
new gas station should be at least 500 feet from residential homes, senior care facilities, and schools.
I live in the the Village of West Clay. My family moved to this community for the many parks, play grounds, and open
areas for my children to play in. I cannot imagine why a gas station should be allowed to be built literally right next door
to a preschool and a senior living facility in my community or any other community in Carmel. The benzene released into
the air can lead to cancer, especially in young children who are exposed to during their development. Please vote to
protect our community, our children, and our seniors from the hazardous chemicals caused by gas station emissions.
