HomeMy WebLinkAboutExecutive Order JB-2021-03 - Rescinds Executive Order 2020-02 (Restrictions related to Covid-19)CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA EXECUTIVE ORDER JB-2021-03 WHEREAS, due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus, and pursuant to the powers vested in me by Indiana Code §§10-14-3-170); 10-14-3-24; 10-14-3-29.5; 36-1-3-2; and, 36-1-3-5, on March 20, 2020 I, as Mayor of the City of Carmel, Indiana, signed Executive Order 20-02, which suspended the issuance of door-to-door solicitation licenses under Carmel City Code § 4-26 and declared that all unsolicited, door-to-door business solicitations were considered to be "non- essential travel" until further notice; and WHEREAS, over the past five months the pace of COVID-19 vaccinations has accelerated, while COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths in the City have steadily declined; and WHEREAS, given the improved COVID-19 conditions in the City, it would be prudent to lift the suspension on the issuance of door-to-door solicitation licenses and withdraw the declaration that unsolicited door-to-door business solicitations are considered to be "non -essential travel'; and NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the power and authority granted to me as Mayor of the City of Carmel, Indiana, I, James Brainard, do hereby declare and order that, effective on June 1, 2021, Executive Order 20-02 is rescinded in its entirety.
