CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE POWER, TELEPHONE, AND TELEVISION (CABLE) SERVICE REQUIREMENTS WITH LOCAL UTILITIES PRIOR TO SUBMIITING BID PROPOSAL. 2. SHOP DRAWINGS: 2.1. NO ALUMINUM WIRING WILL BE ALLOWED. 26 05 33 -RACEWAYS AND BOXES FOR ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS 2. ALL INDOOR CONDUIT SHALL BE ELECTRICAL METALLIC TUBING (EMT) AND SHALL BE A MINIMUM 3/4" UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. UTILIZE COMPRESSION TYPE FITTINGS. ALL BRANCH DEVICES IN SWITCHBOARDS SHALL HAVE AN ENGRAVED PLASTIC LABEL. ALL PANELBOARDS SHALL INCLUDE A TYPEWRITTEN DIRECTORY. PROVIDE LABEL TO IDENTIFY CIRCUIT NUMBERS AT JUNCTION BOXES AND DEVICE BOXES USING BLACK MARKER FOR NORMAL CIRCUITS AND RED MARKER FOR EMERGENCY CIRCUITS. 26 05 53 -IDENTIFICATION FOR ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS 1. 2. ALL SWITCHES AND RECEPTACLES SHALL HAVE CIRCUIT NUMBERS TYPEWRITTEN ON THE FRONT FACE OF THEIR COVERPLATES USING SELF-ADHESIVE, THERMAL PRINTED LABELS. CLEAN FACEPLATES BEFORE APPLYING LABELS. 3. WHERE MULTIPLE SWITCHES ARE GANGED TOGETHER THE SWITCHES SHALL BE IDENTIFIED AS TO WHAT EACH CONTROLS.4. ALL CONDUIT INSTALLED ABOVE GRADE OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING SHALL BE RIGID STEEL. 26 28 13 -FUSES 1. FUSES SHALL HAVE 200,000 RMS SYMMETRICAL AMPERES INTERRUPTING CAPACITY AT 600 VAC OR LESS, CURRENT LIMITING TYPE, TIME DELAY CHARACTERISTICS, REJECTION FEATURE. WORK CONSISTS OF FURNISHING LABOR, MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, AND SERVICES REQUIRED FOR THE COMPLETE INSTALLATION OF ELECTRICAL WORK SHOWN IN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND SPECIFIED IN DIVISIONS 26, 27 AND 28 GENERAL ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATIONS -APPLY TO ALL ELECTRICAL SHEETS 2. INCLUDE ALL PARTS AND LABOR, WHICH ARE INCIDENTAL AND NECESSARY, FOR A COMPLETE OPERABLE INSTALLATION EVEN THOUGH NOT SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED IN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. SUCH ITEMS INCLUDE NUTS, BOLTS, ANCHORS, BRACKETS, SLEEVES, OFFSETS IN CONDUIT, FITTINGS, RELAYS, ETC. 4. OBTAIN ALL TEMPORARY AND PERMANENT PERMITS AND LICENSES REQUIRED IN CONNECTION WITH THE WORK OF DIVISIONS 26, 27 AND 28. PAY ALL FEES AND EXPENSES REQUIRED FOR SUCH PERMITS AND LICENSES. 3. ARRANGE WITH THE OWNER OR LANDLORD TO PROVIDE TEMPORARY AND PERMANENT UTILITY SERVICES AS REQUIRED AND COORDINATE THEIR INSTALLATION WITH CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS OF THIS PROJECT. PAY ALL FEES AND COSTS CHARGED BY UTILITY COMPANIES FOR UTILITY SERVICES. 5. REQUEST INSPECTIONS AS REQUIRED BY REGULATING AGENCIES AND/OR REGULATORS. PAY ALL CHARGES FOR INSPECTIONS BY REGULATING AGENCIES OF INSTALLATIONS OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS 6. INCLUDE STATE AND LOCAL SALES TAXES IN THE BID. KEEP ACCURATE RECORDS OF THESE TAXES AND FURNISH SUCH RECORDS TO THE OWNER, TENANT, OR LANDLORD UPON REQUEST 7. MEET OR EXCEED ALL CURRENT APPLICABLE CODES, ORDINANCES, AND REGULATIONS FOR ALL INSTALLATIONS. HIGHER QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP AND MATERIALS INDICATED IN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS TAKES PRECEDENCE OVER THAT ALLOWED IN REFERENCED CODES AND STANDARDS. 9. THE TERMS DEFINED BELOW APPLY TO ALL WORK INCLUDED IN DIVISIONS 26, 27 AND 28. 9.1. THE TERM 'WORK' MEANS THE CONSTRUCTION AND SERVICES REQUIRED BY THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND INCLUDES ALL OTHER LABOR, MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, AND SERVICES PROVIDED OR TO BE PROVIDED BY THE CONTRACTOR TO FULFILL THE CONTRACTOR'S CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS. 9.2. FURNISH -TO OBTAIN IN NEW CONDITION READY FOR INSTALLATION INTO THE WORK. 9.3. INSTALL -TO STORE, SET IN PLACE, CONNECT AND PLACE INTO OPERATION IN THE THE WORK. 9.4. PROVIDE -TO FURNISH AND INSTALL. 9.5. CONNECT -TO BRING SERVICE TO THE EQUIPMENT AND MAKE FINAL ATTACHMENT INCLUDING NECESSARY SWITCHES, OUTLETS, BOXES, TERMINATIONS, ETC. 9.6. CONDUIT -INCLUDES IN ADDITION TO CONDUIT, ALL FITTINGS, PULL BOXES, HANGERS, AND OTHER SUPPORTS AND ACCESSORIES RELATED TO SUCH CONDUIT. 9.7. CONCEALED -HIDDEN FROM SIGHT IN CHASES, FURRED SPACES, SHAFTS, HUNG CEILINGS, EMBEDDED IN CONSTRUCTION, IN CRAWL SPACES, OR BURIED. 9.8. EXPOSED -NOT INSTALLED UNDERGROUND NOR CONCEALED AS DEFINED ABOVE. 4. WORKING SPACE AROUND ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT TO BE MARKED OFF IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPLICABLE ELECTRICAL CODES, FIRE CODES, AND OTHER APPLICABLE CODES. 1. ENCASE ALL CONDUCTORS IN A CONTINUOUS RACEWAY SYSTEM. PROVIDE PULL AND JUNCTION BOXES AS REQUIRED BY THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE (NEC). SIZE ALL RACEWAYS PER THE NEC WITH OVERSIZE CONDUITS AS INDICATED. PROVIDE A MINIMUM 3/4-INCH CONDUIT. 4. ALL CONDUIT INSTALLED UNDERGROUND SHALL BE SCHEDULE 40 PVC UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. PROVIDE COATED RIGID STEEL ELBOWS FOR ALL UNDERGROUND ELBOWS USED WITH PVC RACEWAY. NO PVC CONDUIT SHALL BE USED ABOVE THE FLOOR SLAB OR EXPOSED OUTSIDE THE BUILDING. 5. PROVIDE RIGID STEEL OR CONCRETE-ENCASED PVC CONDUIT FOR SERVICE ENTRANCE CONDUCTORS. 6. PROVIDE FLEXIBLE METAL CONDUIT FOR CONNECTIONS TO TRANSFORMERS, MOTORS, AND OTHER EQUIPMENT THAT VIBRATE. PROVIDE LIQUIDTIGHT CONDUIT FOR ALL CONNECTIONS IN DAMP OR WET LOCATIONS. PROVIDE GROUNDING TYPE FITTINGS AND GROUNDING CONDUCTOR INSIDE ALL FLEXIBLE CONDUITS. ADJUST CONDUIT SIZE AS REQUIRED. 7. PROVIDE EXPANSION FITTINGS WHERE RACEWAY CROSSES BUILDING EXPANSION JOINTS. 8. RUN ALL EXPOSED CONDUIT IN A NEAT, WORKMANLIKE MANNER PARALLEL TO THE BUILDING LINES, TIGHT TO THE WALL AND CEILING SURFACES, AND FIRMLY SUPPORTED WITH CONDUIT CLAMPS OR HANGERS. PROVIDE TWO-HOLE MOUNTING STRAPS, MINIMUM OF THREE FEET ON CENTER FOR ALL SURFACE CONDUIT MOUNTED ON WALLS LESS THAN SIX FEET ABOVE FINISHED FLOOR. PLACE CONDUITS AT LEAST 8 INCHES AWAY FROM ALL HOT PIPING AND SURFACES INCLUDING DOMESTIC HOT WATER LINES. 9. PROVIDE GALVANIZED CODE GAUGE STEEL JUNCTION AND PULL BOXES WITH SCREW-ON COVERS OF TYPE, SHAPE, AND SIZE REQUIRED TO SUIT EACH INSTALLATION. PROVIDE GASKETING IN DAMP AND DUSTY LOCATIONS. PROVIDE CAST BOXES IN WEATHERPROOF, VAPORTIGHT, AND EXPOLOSION-PROOF ENVIRONMENTS. 10. BOXES TO BE GLAVANIZED STEEL, MINIMUM OF 4" SQUARE WITH ONE-GANG OR TWO-GANG PLASTER RING AS REQUIRED. MINIMUM DEPTH OF 3-1/ 2" DEEP BOXES WHERE INSTALLED IN MASONRY WALLS; MINIMUM DEPTH OF 2-1 /8" ALL OTHER LOCATIONS. 11. MOUNT OUTLET BOXES IN EXPOSED MASONRY WALLS WITH THE BOTTOM OF THE BOX ON THE TOP OF THE MORTAR JOINT AND THE CENTER-LINE OF THE BOX EITHER ON THE MORTAR JOINT OR ON THE CENTER-LINE OF THE MASONRY UNIT. PLUMB AND ACCURATELY ALIGN ALL WALL OUTLETS IN ROWS. MOUNT CEILING BOXES SYMMETRICALLY WITH WALLS, BEAMS, AND/OR TILES. MOUNTING HEIGHTS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS ARE FROM THE CENTER OF THE OUTLET BOX TO THE FINISHED FLOOR DIRECTLY BELOW THE OUTLET UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE. EXTERIOR HEIGHTS ARE FROM INSIDE ADJACENT DOOR, OR IF NO DOOR, FROM THE FIRST FLOOR ABOVE GRADE, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE. 12. COORDINATE THE LOCATIONS OF ALL OUTLETS WITH ARCHITECTURAL AND MECHANICAL DRAWINGS BEFORE INSTALLATION. COORDINATE ALL DOOR SWINGS IN THE FIELD BEFORE LOCATING SWITCHES. 10. THE DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS CONSTITUTE THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. ANY ITEM NOTED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS OR SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS IS INCLUDED IN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. 11. ALL ELECTRICAL DETAILS AND DRAWINGS ARE DIAGRAMMATIC, UNLESS SPECIFICALLY NOTED OTHERWISE. FIELD VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND NOTIFY THE ENGINEER OF ANY CONFLICTS OR DISCREPANCIES, IN WRITING, PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. 12. INITIATE, MAINTAIN, AND SUPERVISE ALL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS REQUIRED WITH THIS WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REGULATIONS OF THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION (OSHA) AND OTHER GOVERNING AGENCIES. 13. DO NOT REMOVE OR DISTURB ANY ASBESTOS CONTAINING MATERIALS FROM THE PROJECT. IMMEDIATELY STOP WORK AND NOTIFY THE OWNER, TENANT, OR LANDLORD IF ASBESTOS CONTAINING MATERIALS ARE SUSPECTED. 14. BEFORE SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL ON THE WORK CONTEMPLATED, EXAMINE THE SITE OF THE PROPOSED WORK AND BECOME THOROUGHLY FAMILIAR WITH THE EXISTING CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONS. NO EXTRA COMPENSATION WILL BE ALLOWED BECAUSE OF MISUNDERSTANDINGS AS TO THE AMOUNT OF WORK INVOLVED NOR BIDDERS LACK OF KNOWLEDGE OF EXISTING CONDITIONS WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN DISCOVERED OR REASONABLY ANTICIPATED PRIOR TO BIDDING. 15. CONDUITS, PIPES, DUCTS, LIGHTS, DEVICES, SPEAKERS, ETC., SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS AS EXISTING HAVE BEEN BASED ON EXISTING PLANS AND MAY NOT BE INSTALLED AS ORIGINALLY SHOWN. IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO VISIT THE SITE AND MAKE EXACT DETERMINATION OF THE EXISTENCE, LOCATION, AND CONDITION OF SUCH FACILITIES PRIOR TO SUBMITTING AS BID. 16.
