PERFORM FIELD TESTS AND INSPECTIONS. B. TESTS AND INSPECTIONS: 1. PIPING LEAK TESTS: TEST NEW AND MODIFIED PARTS OF EXISTING PIPING. CAP AND FILL WITH WATER AT A PRESSURE OF 50 PSIG ABOVE SYSTEM OPERATING PRESSURE, BUT NOT LESS GREATER THAN 125 PSIG. ISOLATE TEST SOURCE AND LET STAND FOR THIRTY MINUTES; HOLD FOR TWO HOURS WITH NO DROP IN PRESSURE. 2. REPAIR LEAKS AND RETEST UNTIL NO LEAKS EXIST. 4.1 CLEANING A. CLEAN AND DISINFECT POTABLE DOMESTIC WATER PIPING AS FOLLOWS: 1. PURGE NEW PIPING AND PARTS OF EXISTING PIPING THAT HAVE BEEN ALTERED, EXTENDED, OR REPAIRED BEFORE USING. 2. USE PURGING AND DISINFECTING PROCEDURES PRESCRIBED BY AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION; IF METHODS ARE NOT PRESCRIBED, USE PROCEDURES DESCRIBED IN EITHER AWWA C651 OR AWWA C652 B. SUBMIT WATER SAMPLES IN STERILE BOTTLES TO AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION. WET-PIPE SPRINKLER SYSTEM PART 1 -GENERAL 1.1 SYSTEM DESCRIPTIONS A. WET-PIPE SPRINKLER SYSTEM: AUTOMATIC SPRINKLERS ARE ATTACHED TO PIPING CONTAINING WATER AND THAT IS CONNECTED TO WATER SUPPLY THROUGH ALARM VALVE.
