COMPLIMENTARY AND MUST BE USED IN COMBINATION TO OBTAIN
COMPLETE CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION. ALL CONFLICTS SHALL BE
BROUGHT TO THE ARCHITECTS OR ENGINEERS ATTENTION IN ORDER TO
ALLOW A CLARIFICATION TO BE ISSUED. ANY WORK COMPLETED
WITHOUT THE CLARIFYING INFORMATION IS AT THE CONTRACTORS
FINANCIAL RISK.
B. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND FURNISH ALL MATERIALS AND
ACCESSORIES TO CREATE A FULLY OPERATIONAL, CODE COMPLIANT
AND TESTED SYSTEM. ALL MATERIALS AND ACCESSORIES REQUIRED TO
CREATE THE FULLY OPERATIONAL SYSTEM SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THE
COST OF THIS PROJECT.
C. THESE DRAWINGS ARE DIAGRAMMATIC IN NATURE. THE CONTRACTOR
MAY AT THEIR OPTION MODIFY THE PIPE ROUTING IN ORDER TO CREATE
A SYSTEM THAT MEETS THE INTENT OF THIS SET OF CONSTRUCTION
DOCUMENTS.
D. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INCLUDE ALL ITEMS THAT ARE REQUIRED TO
ENSURE THAT THE ENTIRE SYSTEM IS FUNCTIONING IN COMPLIANCE
WITH THE APPLICABLE CODES, AND MANUFACTURES INSTALLATION
RECOMMENDATIONS AND OR REQUIREMENTS.
E. ALL CUTTING, DRILLING AND PATCHING OF WALLS, FLOORS AND/OR
STRUCTURAL MEMBERS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF THE PLUMBING AND
FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS SHALL BE PROVIDED AS PART OF THE
SCOPE OF THIS PROJECT.
F. STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS SHALL NOT BE CUT, DRILLED OR MODIFIED
IN ANY WAY WITHOUT THE STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS REVIEW AND PRIOR
WRITTEN APPROVAL.
G. PROVIDE FIRE STOPPING WHERE PIPES PENETRATE FIRE RATED
FLOORS AND WALLS. FIRE STOPPING MATERIALS AND METHODS SHALL
BE PER LOCAL AND STATE CODES AND REQUIREMENTS.
H. ALL PLUMBING SYSTEMS SHALL BE INSTALLED PER THE CURRENT
PLUMBING CODE FOR THE LOCATION OF THE WORK BEING INSTALLED.
I. ALL PLUMBING EQUIPMENT, PIPING, FIXTURES, AND PIPE ACCESSORIES
SHALL BE NSF 61, ANNEX G COMPLIANT.
J. ALL PIPING LOCATED WITHIN A RETURN AIR PLENUM SHALL COMPLY
WITH A 25/50 FLAME SMOKE RATING. ANY EXISTING PIPING DISCOVERED
WITHIN A RETURN AIR PLENUM THAT DOES NOT COMPLY WITH THIS
REQUIREMENT SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE
ARCHITECT FOR FURTHER CLARIFICATION.
K. ALL EXTERIOR WALL PENETRATIONS SHALL BE SEALED WATER AND
WEATHER TIGHT BY THE APPROPRIATE TRADE COMPETENT IN
COMPLETING THIS WORK. THE COST OF THIS WORK SHALL BE INCLUDED
IN THE SCOPE OF THIS PROJECT.
L. DO NOT ATTACH ANY CONSTRUCTION TO THE ROOF DECK JOIST
BRIDGING, JOIST CROSS BRACING, PIPING, CONDUIT, DUCTWORK OR
ANY OTHER NON-STRUCTURAL ITEM.
M. DO NOT WELD OR DRILL INTO STRUCTURAL STEEL OR JOIST; INSTEAD
USE CLAMPS, TIE WIRE, THRU-BOLTS WITH WASHERS
N. DO NOT USE ANY PVC, PLASTIC, ETC. IN PLENUM OR DEMISING WALLS
UNLESS FIRE WRAPPED. ALL WOOD BLOCKING AND NAILERS,
CONCEALED OR NOT SHALL BE FIRE RETARDANT TREATED.
O. DO NOT PENETRATE BUILDING WALLS FOR ANY DUCTING OR VENTING;
ROUTE THROUGH ROOF USING LANDLORDS ROOFING CONTRACTOR.
P. VENT THROUGH ROOF INSTALLATION; ALL ROOFING WORK SHALL BE
COMPLETED BY THE LANDLORDS ROOFING CONTRACTOR. THE COST
SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THE SCOPE OF THIS PROJECT.
Q. PIPING BELOW GROUND SHALL BE SERVICE-WEIGHT CAST IRON OR
SCHEDULE 40 PVC. NO-HUB PIPING OR FERNCO CONNECTIONS ARE NOT
PERMITTED BELOW GRADE.
R. DOMESTIC WATER PIPING ABOVE GRADE SHALL BE TYPE "L" WATER
TUBE.
S. ALL PIPING SHALL BE PROPERLY SUSPENDED BY THE STRUCTURE PER
THE LOCAL CODES.
T. ALL PIPING INSULATED SHALL BE WITH PLENUM RATED MATERIALS.
U. FLOOR DRAINS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH TRAP PRIMERS. TRAP PRIMER
PIPES SHALL BE FIELD ROUTED AND FIELD INSTALLED.
V. ALL SHUT-DOWN OF UTILITIES AND FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS SHALL
BE ARRANGED WITH NO LESS THAN SEVEN (7) DAYS NOTICE TO THE
LANDLORD. WORK MAY NOT COMMENCE UNLESS WRITTEN APPROVAL IS
PROVIDED BY THE OWNER.
W. ALL DOMESTIC WATER BRANCH PIPES SERVING FIXTURES OR
EQUIPMENT WITH FAST ACTING OR ELECTRONIC VALVES SHALL BE
PROVIDED WATER HAMMER ARRESTORS.
X. ALL BRANCH PIPES FROM DOMESTIC WATER MAINS SHALL BE PROVIDED
QUARTER TURN FULL PORT BALL VALVES ON THE BRANCH PIPE JUST
ADJACENT TO THE MAIN.
Y. CONTRACTOR SHALL CAMERA INSPECT AND LOCATE ALL SANITARY PIPE
LOCATED BELOW SLAB, ADVISE OWNER OF ANY DEFECTS PRIOR TO
STARING ANY WORK. ALL CAMERA INSPECTION AND LOCATING SHALL
BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF ANY PIPE. CONTRACTOR
MAY MODIFY ROUTING OF PIPE, KEEP AS-BUILT DOCUMENTS
THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE PROJECT.
Z. CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ONLY WASTE VENT, HOT AND COLD
WATER PIPE AS REQUIRED (BACK TO MAINS) TO ACCOMMODATE THE
NEW FLOOR PLANS. ALL EXISTING SANITARY AND WASTE PIPE SERVING
THE FLOOR ABOVE SHALL BE LEFT IN PLACE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
FIELD MODIFY ANY EXISTING SANITARY PIPE AS REQUIRED TO
ACCOMMODATE THE NEW FLOOR PLANS.

2 PLUMBING CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE AND SALVAGE THE EXISTING
PLUMBING FIXTURE AND FACUET TO BE REINSTALLED IN NEW
CASEWORK IN THE NEW EXAM ROOMS.
3 REMOVE SANITARY PIPE THROUGH FLOOR JUST BELOW SLAB AND
PLUG.
4 REMOVE SECTION OF SANITARY PIPE AND PLUG BOTH ENDS.
5 CUT AND CAP EXISTING SANITARY PIPE.
6 CUT AND CAP EXISTING DHW & DCW PIPING.
7 PLUMBING CONTRACTOR SHALL SELECT FROM THE SALVAGED
FIXTURES AND FAUCETS WHICH ONES ARE OF THE BETTER
CONDITION AND REINSTALL AT THIS LOCATION. ANY FIXTURES AND
FAUCETS NOT REUSED MAY BE DISCARDED AT THE END OF THE
PROJECT. MODIFY EXISTING PLUMBING ROUGHINS AS NEEDED TO
ACCOMMODATE REINSTALLED PLUMBING FIXTURES.
8 CUT AND CAP EXISTING VENT PIPE.
9 CUT EXISTING VENT PIPE AND PREP FOR RECONNECTION.
10 CONNECT 3" S TO EXISTING SANITARY PIPING.
11 CONNECT 2" V TO EXISTING VENT PIPING.
12 CONNECT 1/2" DHW & DCW PIPING TO EXISTING DWH & DCW.
13 EXISTING AREA ALREADY HAS A SPRINKLER SYSTEM IN PLACE. FP
CONTRACTOR SHALL RELOCATE MAINS OR BRANCH PIPING TO
ACCOMMODATE NEW ARCHITECHTURAL FLOOR PLAN AND CEILING
GRID. FP CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE COMPLETE AND
OPERATIONAL SYSTEM PER NFPA REQUIREMENTS.
14 CONNECT 2" S TO EXISTING SANITARY PIPING.
15 CUT EXISTING 2" S PIPE AND PREP FOR RECONNECTION. PLUMBING
CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY WHAT THIS LINE IS SERVING AND
RECONNECT TO THE SANITARY WASTE AND VENT SYSTEM AS
REQUIRED.
16 PLUMBING CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE AND SALVAGE THE EXISTING
PLUMBING FIXTURE AND FACUET TO BE REINSTALLED.
17 REINSTALL SALVAGED LAVATORY AT THIS LOCATION. INSTALL WALL
HUNG LAVATORY AT ADA HEIGHT WITH OFFSET TRAP TO ALLOW FOR
ADA CLEARANCE UNDERNEATH THE FIXTURE. PROVIDE PROTECTIVE
SHIELDING GUARDS TO COVER HOT AND COLD WATER SUPPLIES AND
TRAP AND DRAIN PIPING.
