Petitioner requests a fence 48 inches high with stone corner post of 6 feet and intermittent columns of 4 feet 6 inches. The fence is a decorative, 5 iron railing fence with stone corner posts and columns. The railings match the house trim color. The additional 6 inches of fence height creates a sense of scale when applied to other landscaping and the neighborhood. LEGAL NOTICE shall be published in the NEWSPAPER according to the Chart on page 5 MANDATORY 20 days prior to the public hearing date. The certified "Proof of Publication" affidavit for the newspaper must be available for inspection by the night of the hearing. LEGAL NOTICE to all adjoining and abutting property owners is also MANDATORY; two methods of notice are recommended: 1)FIRST CLASS MAIL with CERTIFICATE OF MAILING sent to adjoining property owners. Stephen Hilbert The location of the fence is permitted. The additional 6 inches of height to the fence and additional height to the columns are consistent with the scale of the residence and neighborhood. The fence and columns are stone and iron rails, decorative and add value to the property and the adjoining properties. The scale of the fence as requested compared to the residence and neighborhood is attractive, decorative, and appropriate.
