Deck size to be 17' 3" x 12'
Build Deck as follows:
1. Provide all labor and materials to construct new deck as follows:
2. Deck is to be built over existing patio area which is concrete and terracotta tile
3. Break up existing patio as necessary to install new Deck.
4. Dig six (6) Pier holes - 18" diameter and 36" deep.
5. Fill with concrete (4000 PSI)
6. Piers are to be 2 inches above grade for drainage.
7. Install six (6) Simpson Deck pier ties — Pier ties to be embedded into the concrete
piers to the Simpson design specifications and to meet all building codes.
8. Simpson Part to be part number — to be ABU66Z
9. Build and Install Two Girders — Triple 2" x 8" thick on the ABU66Z Simpson
Ties.
10.ALL Deck Framing Wood to be 41 Grade Ground Contact AC29) Treated
lumber from Menards®
11.Install 12 Foot 9.25" x 2.0" Ledger board along the edge of the new sunroom .
12.Ledger board material to be #1 Ground ContactAC20 CedarTone Premium
Pressure treated lumber from Menards .
13.Install waterproofing layer between house and new deck as needed.
14.Install 5/8" inch spacers to keep deck isolated from the new sunroom wall and
the existing structure walls.
15.Provide clear drain path that is weather proofed between house and sunroom
areas from the new deck.
16.Install metal drip flashing on new ledger board.
17.Build Deck joists on top of girder system parallel to the existing home.
18. Joists to be 2" x 8" # 1 Ground Contact AC20 CedarTone Premium
Pressure Treated Lumber From Menards on 16" centers.
19.Provide and Install VYCOR® Deck Protector to the tops of all Joists and rim
boards This should add at least 10 extra years to the life of the deck system.
20.Apply Cut-N-seal a Sienna / Cedar Sealant to all cut ends of Treated lumber to
prevent water penetration and rotting at end cuts.
21. Provide and install TREX Enhance Basics synthetic, 25-year warrantee Deck
boards to the entire deck area (I7'x x 12')
22.Deck boards to be Grooved for Hidden fastener attachment.
23.Install Matching Railings to the sides and matching steps.
24.Install 12- inch rim board around outer edge to conceal deck posts and framing.
25.Includes all materials and fasteners.
26.All Decking Fasteners to be TREX approved.
27.All Framing Fasteners to be Simpson approved.
