HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC-10-19-98-04 Krueskamp Relo Resolution No. CC-10-19-98-04 · (As Amended) A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA Authorizing The Payment Of Moving And Relocation Expenses Of Theresa A. Krueskamp WHEREAS, hiring highly qualified personnel for key positions within City govemment is essential to providing quality municipal services to the residents of Carmel; and WHEREAS, despite the City's best efforts to secure the employment of a highly qualified candidate, the Geographic Information System CGIS") Coordinator position within the Department of Administration has been vacant for approximately twelve months; and WHEREAS, the GIS Coordinator vacancy has been detrimental to the City because the City has been unable to adequately obtain comparable service elsewhere, and the vacancy has delayed the implementation of several key projects and initiatives; and WHEREAS, the City recently interviewed, Theresa A. Krueskamp of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and has found her to be a highly qualified candidate and would like to employ her as the GIS Coordinator; and WHEREAS, Ms. Krueskamp's employment with the City is contingent upon the City paying a portion of her the moving expenses she will incur on her move from Milwaukee to Carmel. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, as follows: 1. As an incentive to obtain the employment of Theresa A. Krueskamp of Milwaukee, WI, as the City's GIS Coordinator, the City may pay out of the Department of Administration's budget up to a maximum of $5,000.00 of Ms. Krueskamp's actual and verifiable moving expenses. 2. The City may reimburse, out of the Department of Administration's budget, and subject to the $5,000.00 cap set forth above, only that portion of Ms. Krueskamp's expenses that were actually incurred in packing, loading, moving and unloading her household goods and effects from her present principal residence to her new principal residence located in or near the City. Such expenses may be reimbursed only upon the filing of a proper claim and expense receipts with the Clerk-Treasurer's office. As an express condition and in consideration of the acceptance of such expense reimbursement, Ms. Krueskamp shall, in the event she voluntarily leaves City employment within two (2) years of her hire date, pay back to the City such percentage of her original moving expense reimbursement from the City as follows: (a) (b) (c) (d) If employed by the City for less than six (6) months - 100% If so employed between six (6) months and one (1) year - 60% If so employed between one (1) year and eighteen (18) months - 40% If so employed between eighteen (18) months and two (2) years - 20% Page One of Two Pages [eb:msword:c:Xresolutions-cccXmovingcxpcnscs.doc: 10/22/98] Such amount shall be due and owing immediately upon Ms. Krueskamp's voluntary termination of her employment with the City. 3.
