HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC-06-18-98-01 Employee CompenResolution No. CC-06-18-98-01 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA ESTABLISHING A GRADE AND STEP BASED COMPENSATION SYSTEM FOR CITY EMPLOYEES WHEREAS, the City of Carmel, Indiana wishes to ensure that all its employees are compensated fai~y and equitably for their services to the City; and WHEREAS, the City has contracted with the public sector consulting firm of David M. Griffith and Associates to conduct a professional study and determine appropriate salaries for each City job position based upon the knowledge, skills and abilities required for that position and the concepts of internal and external equity; and WHEREAS, the results of said study and the recommendations of said professional consultant provide a compensation system that will help the City attract and retain qualified employees, assist directors and employees in their financial planning, and provide the basis for future compensation innovation, should such be desirable. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, that the City will adopt the concept of a grade and step plan for the purpose of compensating its employees, which plan shall be based upon the 1998 study and recommendations of David M.
