A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL TO
ACKNOWLEDGE AND SUPPORT AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF
FUNDS
(AS AMENDED)
WHEREAS, the Park Joinder Agreement Under Interlocal Cooperation Act
between the City of Carmel, Indiana, and the Trustee of Clay Tc~wnship, Hamilton
County, Indiana (the "Joinder Agreement"), provides that the Common Council of the
Recreation (the "Board"), and the Carmel. Clay Department of Parks and Recreation (the
"Department "); and
WHEREAS, the Department relocated its offices from Carmel City Hall to 1055
Third Avenue S.W. Carmel, Indiana after completion of the budgetary process; and
WHEREAS, the Department subsequently determined that it needed to increase
several line items in its budget for the payment of rent, utilities and part-time staff
attributable to its new location; and
WHEREAS, the Department has identified the need for additional storage and
work space on the second floor of its premises and non-fixture improvement to the first
floor program room to enhance and expand its use; and
WHEREAS, the Board and the Department have requested the Trustee to notice a
meeting at which the Clay Township Board will consider an additional appropriation
request for $56,146.88 from the unspent balance of the Recreation Fund into the
following designated line items of the Recreation Fund:
For Rent in the amount of $29,609.50 for the first floor park office and
program room, and for additional second floor space in the amount of
$1,540.00 for a total of $31.149.50:
Other Services & Charges
Line Item 430, 3(I)(a) Building Rental;
For Utilities in the amount of $6.000.00:
Other Services & Charges
Line Item 430, 3(F)(a) electric;
For Part Time Staff: 12 hrs/wk x 50 weeks at $7.25/hr. in the amount of
$4,752.38:
Personal Services
Line Item 410, 1 (A)(b) Salaries & Wages, part-time;
For program room improvement: in the amount of $14,245.00:
Capital Outlay
Line Item 440 C: Improvements Other, than Buildings;
WHEREAS, the Trustee and the Township Board have noticed such additional
appropriation for consideration at a meeting scheduled for February 2, 1998; and
WHEREAS, Board and the Department have requested that the Common Council
approve of their request for an additional appropriation as set forth above.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Cannel that the Clay Township Board m_ay, should it choose to do so, appropriate from
the unspent cash balance of the Recreation Fund an amount not to exceed $56,146.88 into
the appropriate line items as set forth in the above-referenced Recitals and in accordance
with Indiana law and the Joinder Agreement.

NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS OF ADDITIONAL APPROPEIATIONS
Notice is hereby given the taxpayers of,Clay Township,
Hamilton County, Indiana =he proper legal office of Clay
Township at their regular meeting place at 10701 N. College
Avenue Suite B, Indianapolis IN, at 7:30 P.M. On the second
day of February, 1998 will consider/the following
appropriations in excess of the cUrrent budget for the
current year.

Taxpayers appearing at r-he meeting shall have a right to
be heard. The additional appropriations as finally made will
be refe.rred to State Board of Tax Commissioners. The Board
will make a wri:ten determination as the sufficiency of funds
to support the appropriations made within fifteen (15) days
of receipt of Certified Copy of the action taken.
