HomeMy WebLinkAboutBPW-11-06-96-07 Main St.ClockResolution No. BPW-11-06-96-07 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A CLOCK TOWER BY THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA WHEREAS, the City of Carmel (the "City") has accepted title to the real estate at the intersection of Main Street and 13 1st Street in Carreel, Indiana more particularly described in the Quitclaim Deed attached hereto as Exhibit A (the "Property"); and WHEREAS, the City wishes to construct a dock tower (the "Tower") on the Property; and WHEREAS, a contractor has not yet been chosen to construct the Tower; and WHEREAS, the City desires that construction begin as soon as possible after a contractor is chosen so that construction of the Tower will be completed on or about December 1, 1996; and WHEREAS, a construction contract must necessarily be executed prior to commencement of construction of the Tower. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Carmel, Indiana Board of Public Works and Safety that the Mayor of the City of Carmel, Indiana is hereby authorized to execute a contract for the construction of a Clock Tower on City property, provided said contract is for an mount less than fifty thousand dollars ($50,000), is with a reputable contractor recommended by the City Engineer and on a standard contract form utilized by the City of Cannel and is approved by the Carmel City Attorney prior to execution. Cordray, QUITCLAI)I DEED THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH, That National City Bank of Indiana ("Grantor"), f/k/a Union State Bank, hereby quitclaims to the City of Camel, Indiana, for the sum of One and No/100 Dollars ($1.00) and other valuable consideration, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, all right, title and interest in the following described real estate, located in Hamilton County. Indiana: A part of Lot Four of the Original Plat of Carmel, recorded in Plat Book E page 512 in the Office of the Hamilton County Recorder, Hamilton Cotmty, Indiana and more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the Southwest Corner of Lot Four of the Original Plat of Carreel; thence East along the South line of said Lot Four 20 feet to the East edge of an existing landscaped area and the Point of Beginning; thence North along the East edge of said landscaped area 24 feet; thence East 19.33 feet; thence South 24 feet to the South line of said Lot Four; thence West along said Lot line 19.33 feet to the Point of Beginning and containing 463.92 square feet more or less.
