HomeMy WebLinkAboutA010_Demolition Floor PlanA. DASHED LINE(S) REPRESENT ITEMS TO BE REMOVED. COORDINATE ALL DEMOLITION WITH THE COMPLETE SET OF CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS. B. OWNER SHALL REMOVE EXISTING FURNITURE/CASEWORK/MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS NOT INDICATED OR SHOWN ON PLANS, AND NOT TO BE DEMOLISHED. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY OWNER IN ADVANCE WHEN OWNER ITEMS NEED TO BE REMOVED. DEMOLITION CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL OTHER ITEMS TO BE REMOVED. C. THE MATERIALS OF DEMOLITION SHALL BE RECYCLED OR DISPOSED OF AS DICTATED BY THE "CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN" PREPARED BY THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGER. D. MATERIALS OF DEMOLITION NOT IDENTIFIED TO BE RECYCLED SHALL BE DISPOSED OF OFF-SITE UNLESS OTHERWISE DIRECTED BY OWNER. E. THE OWNER SHALL RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CLAIM ANY MATERIALS THAT ARE BEING DEMOLISHED PRIOR TO THE DEMOLITION CONTRACTOR DISPOSING OF THEM OFF-SITE. F. THE TERMS "SALVAGE FOR OWNER", SALVAGE FOR OWNER RE-USE", OR "TURNED OVER TO THE OWNER" DENOTES: 1. TAG AND IDENTIFY EACH ITEM 2. STORE IN AN ORDERLY FASHION IN A LOCATION(S) DESIGNATED BY OWNER. G. REFERENCE "SALVAGE SCHEDULE" - FOR SALVAGED ITEMS TO BE RELOCATED. H. CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY PORTIONS OR SECTIONS OF EXISTING WALLS TO BE FILLED IN AND SALVAGE THE NECESSARY MATERIALS REQUIRED, OR NOTIFY ARCHITECT OF POTENTIAL LACK OF THE NECESSARY INFILL MATERIALS. J. DEMOLITION CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE THEIR WORK WITH OTHER PRIME CONTRACTORS AND SUBCONTRACTORS TO DETERMINE IF THERE ARE ITEMS TO BE REUSED. K. REMOVE ALL EXISTING ITEMS MADE OBSOLETE BY NEW CONSTRUCTION WHETHER INDICATED SPECIFICALLY OR NOT ON THE DRAWINGS (UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE). L. PRIOR TO PERFORMING THE WORK THE DEMOLITION CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY HIS WORK IN THE FIELD WITH THE DEMOLITION DRAWINGS, NEW CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS, AND THE ACTUAL AS-BUILT EXISTING CONDITIONS. REPORT ANY AND ALL DISCREPANCIES TO THE ARCHITECT. DEMOLITION GENERAL NOTES M. DEMOLITION SHALL FOLLOW ESTABLISHED AND LOGICAL ESTABLISHED CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE. N. AFTER THE DEMOLITION OF MATERIALS, THE RESULTING EXPOSED SURFACES SHALL BE SMOOTH AND FLUSH WITH EXISTING SURFACES/CONDITIONS. O. ITEMS TO BE PATCHED. REMOVE ALL LOOSE OR DAMAGED MATERIAL. REFINISH TO LIKE NEW CONDITION TO MATCH ADJACENT SURFACES, OR IF CONDITION WARRANTS REPLACE IN ENTIRETY. P. "REMOVE FLOORING" DENOTES FLOOR COVERING MATERIALS INCLUDING BACKINGS, ADHESIVES, BASES, DOWN TO BUT EXCLUSIVE OF FLOOR SLABS/SUBSTRATES, AND STRUCTURAL MATERIALS UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE. Q. REMOVE ALL RESILIENT WALL BASE AND ADHESIVE TO FINISHED SUBSTRATE. PREPARE SUBSTRATE TO RECEIVE NEW FINISH BASE MATERIAL. R. SURFACES TO RECEIVE NEW FINISHES (PAINT, ETC.). REMOVE ALL LOOSE OR PEELING MATERIAL. REFINISH TO LIKE NEW CONDITION TO MATCH ADJACENT FINISH SURFACES. S. WHEN NEW OPENINGS ARE TO BE CUT INTO EXISTING MASONRY WALLS, THE NEW OPENING SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 1'-4" WIDER THAN THE FINISHED OPENING REQUIRED TO ALLOW FOR 8" MINIMUM OF NEW MASONRY TO BE "TOOTHED-IN" AT EACH SIDE (JAMB) OF OPENING. T. PROVIDE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR SHORING, BRACING, OR SUPPORT AS REQUIRED TO PREVENT MOVEMENT OR SETTLEMENT OF EXISTING BUILDING COMPONENTS OR STRUCTURE. U. REMOVE ALL ABANDONED WALL AND CEILING ELECTRICAL CONDUITS, RACEWAYS, AND JUNCTION BOXES. PATCH SURFACES TO MATCH ADJACENT SURFACES. REFERENCE: ELECTRICAL. V.
