HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC-09-03-96-03 2020 Comp Plan/AmendResolution No. CC-09-03-96-03 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA TO AMEND THE 2020 VISION COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR THE CITY OF CARMEL AND CLAY TOWNSH/P WHEREAS, I.C. 36-7-4-501 provides that a Comprehensive Plan be approved by Resolution in accordance with the 500 series for the promotion of public health, safety, morals, convenience, order, or the general welfare and for the sake of efficiency and economy in the process of development; and WHEREAS, the Carreel/Clay Plan Commission (the "Commission") has prepared the 2020 Vision Comprehensive Plan (the "Plan"); and WHEREAS, the Commission has made recommendations to the Common Council as set forth in: (1) June 21, 1996 CERTIFICATION OF PLAN COMMISSION'S RECOMMENDATION ON THE ADOPTION OF THE PROPOSED 2020 VISION/1996 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR THE CITY OF CARMEL AND CLAY TOWNSHIP DOCKET No. 16-96 C.P.; and (2) August 26, 1996 CERTIFICATION OF PLAN COMMISSION' S RECOMMENDATION ON ORDINANCE TO CHANGE THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP FOR THE CITY OF CAR_MEL AND CLAY TOWNSHIP attached hereto; and WHEREAS, I.C. 36-7-4-509 provides that the legislative body may adopt a resolution approving, rejecting, or amending the Plan as presented by the Commission. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Carreel, Indiana as follows: The 2020 Vision/1996 Comprehensive Plan, as Amended and attached hereto is hereby amended by the Common Council pursuant to motion reflected in the minutes of the September 3, 1996 Common Council meeting. Cordray, Cle (/5/ ' t To the Honorable: Common Council of the City of Carme[, Hamilton County, Indiana Dear Members: The Cannel/Clay Plan Commission offers you the following report for your consideration of the 2020 Vision/1996 Comprehensive Plan for the City of Cannel and Clay Township as specifically directed by the City. Council: At its meeting held August 20, 1996, the Commission had the following recommendations: A. Clay West be planned at a density of not more than one point three (1.3) dwelling units per acre, AND that the language in the Comprehensive Plan also include the following: The · - mapping of residential estate and very low density areas in the Comprehensive Plan is not intended to preclude consideration of the possible location of innovative, higher density residential enclaves buffering cultural, educational, or neighborhood service centers within the residential estate and very low density areas, provided such were designed so as to serve and enhance the greater community, complement the general architectural theme of the immediate area, and would not generate significant trat'Fic congestion." The vote was nine in favor, three opposed. B.
