Dear Mr. Brandau:
Dave Paulin Builders, Inc. is the construction management company
for the Studio Plus at Keystone project. We recently acquired a
temporary sign permit from you and the City of Carmel for that
project and decided we should pursue the permanent sign permit
immediately in case there were any problems. We anticipate erecting
the permanent signs within the next six months.
I have enclosed applications and the necessary accompanying
specifications for the two permanent signs for which I believe we
need permits. I have not included any discussion of miscellaneous
parking signs, as it is my interpretation of the guidelines that
those types of signs are exempt. If you have any questions concerning
these applications, please direct them to me.

Dear Mr. Brandau:
I am sending you three copies of the yard sign landscaping plan. I hope
this will be sufficient information to enable us to receive our permit
on this particular sign. I have referred the dilemma concerning the
"office hours" sign to the architect and am waiting to see if he wants
to change the sign or seek a variance. I did recheck the drawing of this
sign and see that its total height is two feet, and the total sign area
is 3.5 square feet (one foot in height and 3.5 feet in length). I believe
I was looking at three things at once when I was filling out the sign
application.
I would like to proceed with getting the yard sign permit, and will
deal with the "office hours" sign situation as soon as I hear from the
architect. It may be that he will scale down the sign and the botched
application for that sign can be thrown away.

In early 1990 you had applied for and received the above Sign Permit. On your application
you indicated that a picture of this sign would be submitted to the Department of
Community Development within one (1) week after the erection of the sign.
According to our records, a picture of the constructed sign was never submitted to this
department. We would appreciate your help in resolving this matter as soon as possible,
so that we may close out your sign permit file.

permit for Studio Plus at Keystone, Inc.,
that permit has been reviewed and approved
for issuance.
At this time, once you submit a check to
us (made out to City of Carmel) in the
amount of $45.00, we can assign a number
to the permit, thus allowing you to establish
the sign at 9750 Lakeshore Dr. E.
Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Monday through Friday, and if you prefer to
send the check, we will return your
set of papers pertaining to the permit
promptly.
