HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC-05-02-94-07 Carey Grove ParkRESOLUTION # (~ ~-- -' 6-,,q,' q .L/_ 7 EXPENDITURE APPROVAL FOR THE CARMEL/CLAY BOARD OF PARKS AND RECREATION TO EXPEND FUNDS FROM THE SPECIAL NONREVERTING CAPITAL FUND FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF CAREY GROVE PARK. WHEREAS, Carmel City Code, Chapter 2, Section 2-120 has created a special nonreverting capital fund pursuant to I.C., 36-10-3-20; and, WHEREAS, one of the purposes of this fund is for making specific capital improvements upon properties owned by the Cannel/Clay Board of Parks and Recreation ("Park Board"); WHEREAS, Cannel City Code, Chapter 2, section 2-120, pursuant to I.C., 36-10-3-20, allows the Park Board to expend monies from said fund with the authorization of Common Council of the City of Carreel; and WHEREAS, the Park Board has deposited into said fund, nontax monies generated from fees for the rental of the land upon which the cellular tower sits at the Carey Grove park site, said monies totalling $9,600; and, WHEREAS, the Park Board has a desire to use these nontax monies, totalling $9,600, to contribute towards the development of the Carey Grove park site, said development to include the construction of swing sets and other play equipment for toddlers, the construction of swing sets and other play equipment for elementary-aged children, the improvement of subsurface drainage necessary for this play equipment, the development of a small parking area, the construction of a small picnic shelter, the construction of a small, half-court basketball area, and other recreation improvements. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of Carreel that $9,600 from the Park Board' s Nonreverting Capital Fund is hereby authorized for expenditure towards park development and recreation improvements at the Carey Grove Park site.
