CARMEL BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
WHEREAS,
It is in the best interests and safety of all Camel
City employees to enact a substance abuse policy
for employees while on City property, while in City
vehicles, and/or while on City time; and
WHEREAS,
It is in the best interests and safety of the public
who come in contact with Camel City employees; and
WHEREAS,
It would be beneficial to both Camel City employees
and the public if a substance abuse policy were
enacted,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Camel Board of Public Works
and Safety, that the City of Camel adopt the attached as an
official substance abuse policy affecting all City employees. This
resolution is effective January 1, 1993.
Adopted this 9th day of December 1992, by the Camel Board of
Public Works and Safety, Camel, Indiana, Hamilton County, Indiana.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE
Drug/Alcohol PolicV
The City of Carmel PROHIBITS any City employee from using or
possessing alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substances while
on City property, while in City vehicles, and/or while on City
time.
The only allowable exception to this policy as it would apply
to a controlled substance is; when prescribed by a physician
or dentist in the treatment of said employee. When controlled
substances, narcotics, or other drugs are prescribed, employee
shall immediately notify his or her supervisor before beginning
their workday.
ANY City employee in violation of the above stated policy will
be subject to IMMEDIATE TERMINATION.
