RESOLUTION NO. CC-10-16-00-02
A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA,
REGARDING THE ACQUISITION OF REAL PROPERTY
FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF CARMEL DRIVE
WHEREAS, the City of Caramel, Indiana, has developed a beauti~cation and
improvement plan for Carmel Drive, including signage, light fixtures, address pillars, brick
pavers, decorative concrete, traffic light poles, sidewalks, and related improvements (the
"Project"); and
WHEREAS, in order to carry out the Project it will be necessary to expand the Carmel
Drive right-of-way through the acquisition of certain real property; and
WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-10.5 governs the acquisition by an Indiana municipality
of real property having a total price in excess of Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00);
and
WHEREAS, certain of the parcels of land to be acquired by the City in connection with
the Project have appraised values in excess of Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARMEL, iNDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the foregoing Recitals are incorporated herein by this reference.
2. That the City desires to purchase the parcels of land identified on Exhibit
A attached hereto and made a part hereof.
3. That the Director of Administration of the City is authorized to purchase
all or any of the parcels of land identified on attached Exhibit A upon compliance with the
appraisal requirements set forth in Indiana Code 36-1-10.5-5.
4. That this Resolution take effect upon its passage by the Common Council
and signing by the Mayor as required by law.
