RESOLUTION NO. BPW 09-17-03-02
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING PRESENTATION OF PISTOL AND BADGE
WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works of the City of Carmel is empowered by IC. $ 36-1-11-6
to declare items of personal property surplus items, and;
WHEREAS, pursuant to I.C. $ 36-1-I 1-6 single items valued at less than Five Hundred Dollars
($500.00) or more than one (1) item, within estimated total value of less than One
Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) may be declared surplus items and then be sold or trans-
fen'ed without advertising In order to dispose of said surplus items, and;
WHEREAS, the Police Department of the City of Carmel has certain items that are surplus
property and that are valued at less than One Thousand dollars ($I,000.00) total,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it hereby resolved by the Carmel Board of Public Works
& Safety as follows:
1 service pistol, valued at Four Hundred ninety-five Dollars ($401.00)
1 duty shotgun, valued at Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00)
1 badge, valued at Fifty Dollars ($65.00)
The above mentioned surplus items may be presented upon retirement of Ronald C. Carter,
pursuant to the existing policy of the Carmel Police Department at the instruction of the
Chief of Police.

Dear Members:
I respectfully request Board approVal to have the below listed weapons
deleted from the Police Department inventory:
Remington 12 gauge Model 870 Shotgun, Serial # W582677M
Glock Model 22, 40 Cal. Pistol, Serial # DHK965US
As has been the custom and practice of the City and Department, these
weapons will be presented to Lt. Ronald C. Carter who is retiring from the
department, with over twenty years of service to the Carmel community.
