WHEREAS,
the tragic death of Mark Kilroy and fourteen other men
in Matamoros, Mexico has focused the attention of the
entire world on the drug crisis that faces our nation, and
WHEREAS, we recognize that if we are to survive, we must aggresively
attack the enemy that is destroying us from within, and
WHEREAS, illegal drugs are everywhere, big cities, small towns, the
countryside, and is out of control, and
WHEREAS,
we feel the need to create a great awareness among our
citizens of the urgency and need for their participation
in a demand for a great change.
Adopted this
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Common Council of the City
of Carmel, Indiana does hereby support a quest for a new
national drug policy, believing that only through a united
outcry from the people of this country will the message
that "we have had enough" be delivered to our leaders.
