HomeMy WebLinkAboutTree Inventory Report 08-31-21 August 30, 2021 Stefanie K. Day Chief Real Estate Counsel 1 Oakbrook Terrace, Suite 600 Oakbrook Terrace IL 60181 Re: Napleton Auxiliary Lot- Fifty (50) Foot Buffer- Assessment Methodology for Assessment: Trees in the fifty (50) foot Tree Preservation Buffer, and in an additional 10 feet area, south of the buffer, were assessed. The intent of the assessment was to: 1- Determine how many dead trees were in the fifty-foot (50) buffer. 2- Inventory trees along a ten (10) foot strip, south of the buffer, to determine if there were any significant trees. Findings: My findings are attached but in summary are: 1- The fifty-foot (50) buffer includes ten (10) trees that are dead and should be removed. a. They include: i. Eight (8) white ash (Fraxinus americana). ii. Two (2) red elm (Ulmus americana). Note: This is a preliminary count. I recommend a follow-up assessment after the clearing limits are staked. 2- The ten-foot (10) area south of the buffer incudes: a. Eleven trees ranging in size from nine (9) to twenty-two (22) inches. They include: i. Four (4) hackberry (Celtis occidentalis). ii. Three (3) red elm (Ulmus rubra). iii. Two (2) American sycamore (Platanus occidentalis). iv. One (1) black walnut (Juglans nigra). v. One (1) boxelder (Acer negundo). Note: None of these trees are particularly significant, as they are spindly and typical woodland trees. I certify that all the statements of fact in this report are true, complete and correct to the best of my knowledge and belief, and that they are made in good faith. It should be noted that this assessment was conducted to provide information as to species, size and general condition of the trees. 2 This study should not be seen as a hazard tree assessment. Further analysis is available should this information be desired. It is recommended that further review be performed if any of these trees are to be retained in the future development. Thank you for the opportunity to provide you with this assessment. Please contact me with any questions about this report.
