WHEREAS, the City of Carmel, Indiana, has been subjected to c~e of the
most severe winters in its history, including as of this date, the second
largest amount of snow since 1870, and
WHEREAS, the streets of the City of Carmel have been subjected to the
nearly constant accumulation of ice and snow during January and February,
1982, and
WHEREAS, various employees of the City of Carmel, under the leadership
of Street Superintendent, Phil R~ddick, have spared neither tin~ nor energy
in. devoting themselves to the removal of such ice and snow as soon as possible,
given the limitations of time and equiument.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cc~Dn Council of the City of
Carmel, Indiana, hereby highly cc~mends:
Phil Reddick Dave Valentine
Randy Strong Claude Coyle
Tom Shipley Jim Dougherty
Don Mahaney Jim Haag
Jim Conaway
Gary Cox
Boone Clark
Dave Pace
Bob Allen
Jim Martin
Tim Warner
Dale Riley
for their untiring and conscientious efforts in performing their duties through
countless late hours and disregard for their own comfort in an attempt to keep
the 80-plus miles of Carmel streets open and minimizing the inconvenience to
the citizens of the city.
Resolved this /~ day of February, 1982, by the C~cn ODuncil of the
City of Carmel, Indiana.
