The Board met at the Library with tho following members '
present: James Nutt. John Lee, Dunning Hall and E. E. Small;
The State Highway Commission informed the Board by letter
that prompt action would be taken in referenee to the~ eom-
munlcatlon addressed them asking the paving of Nain street in
the town of Carmel;
The petition of Uilllam Alred that the alley running east
and west in the tov,~ from Wain street to the ~onon railroad
be elosed, was referred to the towm attorney for legal
ooinion;
A co~nuunication was read from. the Indiana~olis Light &
Heat Co., naming a price, of ~5,00 per ear load for cinders;
0sear Applegate was given the power to confer ~ith the abo~e
come,any and order the amount of cars required;
E. H. Day aske~ the Board to require traffic to go west
only, through the alley south_ of the creamery. The request
~as tabled,

The Board met at the Library with the following members present:

~i.[. Alred home had never been clo~ed~ only v:hen alley is in bad
condition. This was in a repl7 to a complaint that the alley
had been olosed~ Attorney L. J. Patty. who was present stated
that the alley must be kept open, as accordin~ to law it was a
recognized alley having been open as a thoroughfare flor twenty
years; Perm.,,ission was given by the board to let th~ interested
parties, D[r. ~orrow and ~. f~red settle the difficulty;
The meeting was addresse~.by I~; Grimes who sta~ed that the
~nion Traction Co. had been given permission to operate three
trains through_ Carmel without a stol? and the matter was entirely
between the Utilities Co~mtission and the T~n~m of Ca~:~el;
