Regular meeting was called to order at 7 P.M. ,all members present. Minutes of ~
the previous meeting were read and approved.

Ths President suggested that Clean-up Week be advertised for "pick-up" on
May I7 and I8, and that hand-bills be sent out on Nay I~ and I4. This was
proposed in motion by Mr. Zinsmeister, seconded by Mr. Thornberry and
carried.
Two bids for sidewalks around the Tank lot were examined and it was decided
that Mr.Thornberry would interview both contractors in order to coordinate
the bids.
Mt.Roy Homey, County ~urveyor, was present, and the Follet Drain was
discussed regarding possible caving and repair. He emplained that if the
County fixed the ditch, it would be billed back to Carmel paople. He
suggested that if we file a petition and demand results,he would have
something to work on, o~ that the Town Board write him a letter along the
same lines. It was moved by Mr. Thornberry, seconded by Mr.Hinshaw, th~t the
Tov~ Board address a letter to Mt.Roy Homey, County Surveyor, that the
Follet Drain be repaired as soon as possible, and immediate action be
taken. A letter was accordingly mailed the following day,Nay 5th.
Interest coupons due to date on To¥~ Bonds were clipped and destroyed.
Contracts for sewer surveys from Henry Stege and Clyde E.Williams were
discussed, and it was decided that contracts should be returned and the ~
engineers re~uestesd to re-submit contracts based merely on a preliminary
survey only,~ith an option to go ahead after the Board has considered the
preliminary survey.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.

Mr. Chester Bailey, Mr.Leroy ~ew and Mr.Geo.Yount were present from the
Methodist Church to discuss water service and were assurer that the new
installation would service them all satisfactorily. They also stated that
the Methodist Church and Mr.Yount want to be brought into the Corporation,
and.they v~ll furnish the necessary le~a!descriptions. It was moved by Mr. Buck
seconded by Mr. Zinsmeister, and carried, tha% if Mr. Geo.Yount agrees to relinquish
his present easments, the Town Board agrees to continue to furnish him water
providing they pay one more Tap fee and one more Meter.
Sidewalk bids were discussed for the Tank lot, and the job was awarded to Lloyd
Featherston, on motion by Mr.WBuckle~and seconded by Mr. Zinsmeister, and
carried;providing for $30i.20 plus iiI.O0 per foot for curbing.
The Sam Jones ~&te~ problem was discussed and it wa~ decided that for all ~
connections there would be charged a tap ~ee with each and every n$w meter.
It was moved by Mr.Zinsmeister and seconded by Mr.Thorn~erry that
regardless of the number of tenants of a single bldg.,the Water Co. can
require only one meter, if the owner so desires~and that if additional meters
are installed tapping charges and meter deposits will be required~also
that individual meters will be required for each individual unit not under
one roof on any property. The motion carried.
The sewer project was discussed and it was decided to call a special
meeting for Thursday night, June IOth, 7:30 P.M. and to invite Henry B.Steeg to
meet with us.
The President appointed Mr. Thornberry and Mr. Zinsmeister to check into
possibilities of getting a To~ Marshall. o~

A special meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. All members present
except Mr.Hinshaw.~r. Steeg and assistant of Henry B.Steege and
Associates were present. The ~resident explained to Mr.~teege what is needed
by way of a sewer survey.
Mr.Steege re~lied that any kind of a survey could be had that was wanted and
stated various plans of survey. He also said that his survey would be all th~
was necessary for preliminary examinations and everything would be in the ~
report.
It was moved by Mr.Thornberry and seconded by Mar. Buckles that the original
sewer curvey contract of H.B.Steege and Associates be accepted for the
Town of Carmel at the fee of $700.00. Motion carried.
It was m~ved by Mr. Zinsmeister, seconded by Mt.Buckles that~~ be paid to -
each property owner of lots near the proposed new well, if such owners will
add to their abstracts that they will not place any septic tanks within
I45 feet of the new well site.,as required by the State Board of Health.
The motion carried.
It was moved by ~.Buckles and seconded~ by Mr. Zinsmeister, and carried that
existing hills be paid as follows:
