retained as engineers in the
Attorney Robert Deardorf and M.L. Lee of the Municipal Engineer-
ing Co. were present and plans were discussed to purchase the
water works from the Carmel Water Co. Vogenberger moved to
hire Nm. Deardorf as legal adviser in the transaction. Seconded
and carried. Lamb moved that the Municipal Engineering Co. be
transaction. Seconded and aarried.

The Carmel Town Board met in the city hall at 7:300 with
all members present~ except Lamb. Minutes of the last meeting were
read and adopted. The following bills were allowed:

Vogenberger moved to write Otto Eensen for a date when the
board and clerk could meet with him concerning taxation con-
fronting t~he twon. Seconded and carried.

The Carmel TwonBoard met iht he city hall at 7:30 with
all members present. The minutes of the last meeting were read
and adopted. C"nas. Graves and Roe Hodgin were present to
request a street light at the Monon Crossing on W, Main St.
They were instructed to prepare and circulate a petition to
have it signea by effected property owners and file the same
with the clerk. Lamb moved to employ no attorney, except in
case of emergency. Seconded and carried. Vogenberger moved to
employ Noel Adams in the capacity of Street Commissioner and
Water Master for the coming year. Seconded and carried. The
following bills were allowed~

After a careful check of the report of the State Accounts
~63626 and a supplemental report filed Jan. 3, 1938, Fred
Pfotenhauer moved that the clerk send a bill to the Metro-
politan Insurance Co. for nine hundred eighty one dollars and
sixty oas cents (981.61) to cover the amount due the town of
Carmel, Ind. on the Surety Bond of A.B. Claypool.
