Donald Swails Jr.~ Carmel Fire Chief, appeared before the board in regard to purchases for the fire dept. ~a~son moved that the Board accept invoices for $15. or less, the Township Trustees to reimburse the town at the end of each month. All over $15. would be a±±o~eG with the approval fo the Tw~nship Trustees. Hash seconded. Motion carried. Chief Swailes askea permission to build a fire station on the ~o~n lot, ( north of pump house ) on 1st Ave. S. W. The Boar~, by mutual consent, agreed to allow the building to proceed, after ~he ~ire Department had SE~O0. on hand to start the building program. Brattain permission to remove a cedar t~ee from the lawn of the ?ump house. Dawson moved to sign the le~se for the parking lot at the corner of ~ain and First Ave. S. W. Second oy Compton. ~otion Carr~e~. The Street Commissioner was instrueted to repair the side walk in front of the Carmel Library. May 15 was chosen as Town Clean-Up Day.
