COORDINATE ALL DEMOLITION WITH THE INFORMATION PROVIDED IN THIS SET OF CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. 2. ALL MATERIAL TO BE DEMOLISHED AND REMOVED SHALL BE DISPOSED OF AS APPROVED BY LOCAL ORDINANCE AND CODES. 3. THE EXISTING AREAS TO REMAIN SHALL BE PROTECTED. ALL DAMAGE RESULTING FROM WORK IN THIS CONTRACT SHALL BE RETURNED TO ITS ORIGINAL STATE. CAREFULLY DISMANTLE AND REMOVE MATERIALS SHOWN ON PLANS TO BE DEMOLISHED. NOTIFY ARCHITECT PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION OF ANY DEMOLITION WORK THAT MAY DAMAGE THE INTEGRITY OF ANY MATERIALS WHICH ARE TO REMAIN AS EXISTING. 4. THE PREMISES IN WHICH WORK IS BEING PERFORMED SHALL BE KEPT CLEAN AT ALL TIMES. 5. WHERE FLOORS, WALLS, OR CEILINGS ARE DEMOLISHED, ALL ATTACHED ITEMS FIXTURES ACCESSORIES, DEVICES ETC SHALL BE COMPLETELY REMOVED. WHERE PARTITIONS ARE SCHEDULED TO RECEIVE A NEW FINISH, PREPARE THE EXISTING SURFACE FOR PROPER INSTALLATION OF THE NEW FINISH. THIS MAY INCLUDE BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO REMOVING EXISTING WALL COVERING, TILE, REPLACING GYP. ETC. 8. GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR FIELD VERIFICATION AND REMOVAL OF ALL EXISTING FLOOR PENETRATIONS AND FLOOR CORES TO BE PATCHED AND FIRE SAFED U.N.O. 9. REMOVE EXISTING FINISHES AS REQUIRED AS PER FINISH MANUFACTURE'S PRINTED INSTRUCTIONS, SEE FINISH SCHEDULE FOR NEW FINISHES. 10. PROTECT EXISTING FIRE PROOFING OR FIRE ASSEMBLIES INDICATED TO REMAIN, DAMAGE DURING DEMOLITION SHALL BE REPAIRED TO CONFORM TO ORIGINAL FIRE PROTECTION REQUIREMENTS. 11. AREA OR OBJECTS IDENTIFIED AS "EXISTING TO REMAIN" OR " NOT IN CONTRACT" - "N.I.C." SHALL BE PROTECTED. ALL DAMAGE TO THESE AREAS RESULTING FROM DEMOLITION WORK WITHIN THIS CONTRACT SHALL BE RETURNED TO ITS ORIGINAL STATE. 12. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE EXISTING ITEMS TO BE REUSED OR SAVED AND RETURNED TO OWNER/LANDLORD. ITEMS INCLUDE DOORS, FRAMES, HARDWARE, LOOSE EQUIPMENT, FURNITURE, LIGHT FIXTURES, AND WALL MOUNTED ITEMS. CAREFULLY REMOVE AND STORE AWAY FROM POSSIBLE DAMAGE. 13. INSTALL TEMPORARY BARRIERS TO SEPARATE CONSTRUCTION FROM OCCUPIED AREAS OR AREAS ACCESSIBLE TO PUBLIC OR OWNER EMPLOYEES. BARRIERS SHALL BE DUST TIGHT. MINIMIZE DISRUPTIONS FROM SOUND OR CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT AND PERSONNEL IN OCCUPIED AREAS. 14. ALL NOTICEABLE DEFECTS IN THE EXISTING CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE ARCHITECT PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF DEMOLITION. ALL DEFECTS IN THE EXISTING CONSTRUCTIONS DISCOVERED DURING DEMOLITION WILL ALSO BE BROUGHT IMMEDIATELY TO THE ATTENTION OF THE ARCHITECT. 15.
