EXECUTIVE ORDER
JB-2004-5
WHEREAS, the City Medical Escrow Fund ("Fund"), as established by
Ordinance D-1048 on February 21, 1994, currently has a balance in excess of $1.5
million; and
WHEREAS, with all income sources taken into account, the Fund balance
exceeds what is necessary to pay all anticipated claims and administrative expenses for
the foreseeable future; and
WHEREAS, it is not in the best interest of the City or its employees to keep in the
Fund a reserve greater than what is reasonably required.
NOW, THEREFORE, I James Brainard, the duly elected Mayor of the City of
Carmel, Indiana, pursuant to Indiana Code Section 36-4-7-8, which authorizes me to
decrease the budget appropriations after the passage of the City's appropriation
ordinance, do hereby order and direct that the following funds within the Executive
Departments indicated be decreased in Line Item 220, City's Share of Health Insurance,
in the amounts listed:
