HomeMy WebLinkAboutD-1491-00 CFD Amend Salary Ord.Sponsored by: Councilor Battreall Ordinance D-1491-00 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA AMENDiNG CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 3, DIVISION II, SECTION 2-81 OF THE CARMEL CITY CODE WHEREAS, on August 7, 2000, the Carmel Common Council passed Ordinance D-1467-00 fixing the salaries of appointed officers and employees of the City of Carmel; and WHEREAS, the rank of Sergeant in the Carmel Fire Department was initially not included in the ordinance, but was added before the ordinance was passed; and WHEREAS, the corresponding provision for Twenty-four Hour Fire Schedule Pay for the rank of Sergeant was inadvertently overlooked in adding this position to the ordinance; and WHEREAS, the provision for Twenty-four Hour Fire Schedule Pay for the Sergeant position is consistent with compensation for other ranks in the Fire Department, and does not change the base pay of a Sergeant. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, as follows: 1. Chapter 2, Article 3, Division II, Section 2-81 of Cannel City Code is hereby amended to include the following: Section 14. BI-WEEKLY "SERGEANT UP TO 130.00" This Ordinance shall take full force and effect on December 23, 2000. All prior Ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with any provision of this Ordinance are hereby repealed as of the effective date of this Ordinance. This amendment does not change or affect any other provisions contained in City Code Section 2-81, which provisions remain in full force and effect.
