ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANAA
PROVIDING FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPRORIATION OF THE FUNDS FROM THE
GENERAL FUND OPERATING BALANCE
WHEREAS, an amount of $8,400 needed to cover overtime expenses in the 2000 Cannel
Police Department line item 120 Overtime and,
WHEREAS, the City of Carmel has received $8,400 from the Indiana Criminal Justice
Institute and deposited it into the General Fund,
WHEREAS, the General Fund has excess funds in the amount of $8,400 in the operating
balance of the General Fund to due to the reimbursement to appropriate to the line item for the
expenses,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Carmel, Indiana, the Council authorizes the following additional appropriation to the Carmel
Police Department Budget as follows:
120 Overtime $8,400

NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS
CARMEL, INDIANA
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
FOR ADDITIONAL
APPROPRIATION
from the
GENERAL FUND
Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the City of Carreel, Hamilton County,
Indiana, that the proper legal officers of the City of Carmel, at their regular
meeting place at Carreel City Hall, One Civic Square, Council Chambers at
7 p.m. on the 21st day of August 2000, will consider the following appropriation
in excess of the budget for 2000:
$8,400.00
from
the
GENERAL FUND
to
CARMEL CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT BUDGET
LINE ITEM 120.00 - OVERTIME $8,400
The above to be used for unanticipated expenses.
The source of revenue for the above is the operating balance of the
General Fund.
Taxpayers appearing at the meeting shall have a right to be heard. The additional
appropriation as finally made will be referred to the State Board of Tax
Commissioners. The Board will make a written determination as to the
sufficiency of funds within fifteen (15) days of receipt of a certified copy of the
action taken.

Additional Appropriation
This department has received and deposited $8,400.00 into the City General
Fund. This money is from the Governor's Council On Impaired & Dangerous
Driving, for the explicit purpose of "Seat Belt Enforcement".
I am asking for your approval for an additional appropriation of this $8,400.00,
into our 120 Overtime account so that we may proceed with the project. Our
matching funds of $2,800.00 have been set aside for this project as well.

RE: Deposit grant monies/ordinance preparation
Attached please find a check, in the amount of $8,400.00 to be deposited into
the City General Fund.
Also enclosed is a letter to Mayor Brainard and Council members requesting
an additional appropriation for this money to be deposited into the police over-
time account #120.
I am requesting that your office prepare an ordinance for this appropriation
