Home My WebLink AboutD-1447-99 Noise Ord. AmendORDINANCE NO. D-1447-99 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. D-1416-99, AS AMENDED, REGARDING CITY NOISE REGULATIONS WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, has adopted Ordinance No. D- 141699, as amended, to address the generation of sound within the City's corporate limits; and WHEREAS, the generation of sound from snow removal equipment is subject to the time and volume limitations set forth in such Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the removal of snow from streets, sidewalks and other paved areas is in the public safety and for the public good; and WHEREAS, the need to remove snow whenever it accumulates would be unnecessarily hampered if such action were not exempt from such Ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, as follows: 1. The foregoing recitals are fully incorporated herein and made a part hereof. , Section 6-158(b)(xiii) is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec. 6-158. Noise Regulations b)(xiii) Sounds associated with the operation of aircraft or snow removal equipment." 3. All other provisions of Ordinance No. D-1416-99, as amended and adopted, are not affected hereby and remain in full force and effect. 4. All prior ordinances or pans thereof inconsistent with any provision of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. 5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, signing by the Mayor and such publication as is required by law.
