AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 8, ARTICLE 5, SECTION 8-51
OF THE CARMEL CITY CODE
WHEREAS, the regulation of vehicular parking is necessary for the safety and welfare of the citi T, ens
of the City of Cannel, Indiana; and
WHEREAS, the current provisions of the Cannel City Code restricting parking do not addre:¢~ the
parking and safety problems caused by the frequent use by City residents and others of Wo, l~ck
Field located adjacent to Cannel Elementary School in the City of Carmel, Indiana; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Ind i ., ,~a,
that Section 8-51 of the City Code be and the same is hereby amended to include the follow', mg
paragraph (c):
"(c) : No vehicle shall be parked on the following streets at any time from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00
p.m.:
On either side of Lincoln Court to the location 275 feet east of the center
point of the intersection of Lincoln Court and Lexington Boulevard.
2. [Reserved]
The provisions of this paragraph (c) shall not apply to vehicles which properly display a resident
vehicle sticker. Resident vehicle stickers shall be issued by the Carmel Police Department for any
vehicle registered to an owner who resides at an address which is located on any of the following
streets:

Lincoln Court
Lexington Boulevard between its intersection with Lincoln Court and its
intersection with Concord Court.
Lexington Boulevard from its merge with Lincoln Court to its intersection
with Altam Avenue.
Resident vehicle stickers shall be issued at no cost to such vehicle owners. Any vehicle viol',i:ing
this paragraph (c) may be towed at the owner's expense and a ticket issued and the fine assc:.:;ed
pursuant to Section 8-92 of this Code. The Carmel Street Department is instructed to l~ost
appropriate signage immediately upon passage of this Ordinance."
All prior Ordinances or parts thereof that are inconsistent with any provision of this Ordinance are
hereby repealed.

Mayor, and publication in accordance with State statute.
