AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 8, ARTICLE 5, SECTION 8-52 OF THE CARMEL CITY CODE
(AS AMENDED)
WHEREAS, the regulation of vehicular parking is necessary for the safety and welfare of the
citizens of the City of Carmel, Indiana; and
WHEREAS, the current provisions of the Carmel City Code restricting parking do not address
the parking and safety problems caused by the frequent use by City residents and others of Main Street
in the City of Carmel, Indiana; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Carreel,
Indiana, that Section 8-52 of the City Code be and the same is hereby amended to include a new
paragraph (d) and to renumber the current paragraph (d) thereof as follows:
1. NEW PARAGRAPH (d):
"(d) Restricted parking is established for a period of two (2) hours on both the north
and south sides of Main Street between its intersection with the Monon Railway
corridor and its intersection with Fourth Avenue N. E. and S. E., from 7:00 A.M. to 5:00
P.M., Monday through Saturday."
2. OLD PARAGRAPH (d), as renumbered and restated:
"(e) The Carmel Street Department is directed to erect the appropriate signage as
provided by this section."
All prior Ordinances or parts thereof that are inconsistent with any provisions of this Ordinance are
hereby repealed. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage,
execution by the Mayor, and publication in accordance with State statute.
