HomeMy WebLinkAboutD-1334-97 Salary Elect OfficialOrdinance No. D-1334-97 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA ESTABLISHING BI-WEEKLY SALARIES FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 1998 (AS AMENDED FROM ORIGINAL D-1334-97) WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Carreel, Indiana (the "City"), desires to set the salaries of certain of the City' s elected officials pursuant to IC 36-4-7-2; and WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Carreel, Indiana desires to establish the bi-weekly rate of pay for elected officials. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, that the bi-weekly salaries of elected officials shall be as follows commencing January 1, 1998 and continuing through December 31, 1998, or until a new ordinance is passed: Mayor: Maximum Authorized: To be paid in 1998: $2,334.86 bi-weekly $2,266.85 bi-weekly Clerk-Treasurer: Judge: $1,949.08 bi-weekly ~'; $2,045.64 bi-weekly Common Council: $148.66 bi-weekly In addition to the base received by the Council members, each shall receive the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) for each regular meeting and special meeting of the Carmel Common Council that they may attend. This provision shall also apply to the Council members when the council meets as a committee of the whole to consider the civil budget as provided for in the Cannel City Code, Chapter 3, Article 1, Division II, Section 3-17. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
