ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL,
INDIANA PROVIDING FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FROM
THE LAW ENFORCEMENT CONTINUING EDUCATION FUND
WHEREAS, the Carmel Police Department projects the following training needs
for the remainder of 1997: NRA Firearms Instructor School for three new instructors,
American Society for Law Enforcement Trainers, Street Survival for four officers, the
Reid School of Interview and Interrogation for two officers, a Hostage Negotiation
School, Glock Armor School, and the Intoxilizer School; and
WHEREAS, the cost of the above training needs is estimated to be $4,500.00; and
WHEREAS, the 1997 Annual Budget for the City did not include monies to cover
the expenses involved with such training; and
WHEREAS, the Clerk-Treasurer has determined that the deduction from the
City's Law Enforcement Continuing Education Fund, as set forth below, will leave said
Fund a sufficient remaining cash balance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
Carmel, Indiana, that for the expenses of the taxing unit the following additional sums of
money are hereby appropriated out of the 1997 Law Enforcement Continuing Education
Fund and for the purposes specified, subject to the laws goveming the same as follows:
