HomeMy WebLinkAboutD-1306-97 Fingerprint Fee Ordinance No. D- 1306-97 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA AMENDING THE CARMEL CITY CODE BY THE ADDITION OF SECTION 2-130 (AS AMENDED FROM ORIGINAL ORDINANCE D-1306-97) WHEREAS, the Carmel Police Department is often requested to provide fingerprinting service for various reasons, including, but not limited to, securities and insurance license applications, immigration and naturalization applications, adoption applications and employment applications; and WHEREAS, in order to offset the cost of providing this fingerprinting service, a nominal charge may be collected. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana as follows: 1. That Section 2-130 is hereby added to the Carmel City Code, and said Section shall read as follows: "See. 2-130 - Fee for Fingerprinting Service (a) The Camel Police Department shall charge the following fees, which fees shall not exceed the fees allowed by Indiana state law. ( 1 ) Fingerprinting Service $10.00 (ten dollars) for the first two fingerprint cards, and $5.00 for each additional fingerprint card. (2) Fingerprinting Service for no charge employees of the City of Cannel required for employment (b) All funds received by the Carmel Police Department pursuant to this Ordinance shall be delivered to the Clerk-Treasurer's office for deposit and credit to the appropriate Department account. (C) Residents of the City of Carmel, Indiana shall not be subject to the fees provided for in this Ordinance, and shall receive the referenced fingerprinting services flee of charge." All prior Ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with any provision of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. , This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage and signing by the Mayor.
