AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FROM THE
GENERAL FUND
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is necessary to appropriate more money
than was appropriated in the annual budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
Carmel, Hamilton County, Indiana, that for the expenses of said municipal
corporation the following additional sum of money is hereby appropriated and
ordered set apart out of the funds herein named and for the purposes herein
specified, subject to the laws governing same:
SECTION I.
General Fund #101 9500,000
Board of Public Works Budget
Account #501.01 Trash Removal
,~500,000
Contractual Services for City wide residential public trash, yard waste and recycling
pick-up. Services contracted for in this ordinance shall, at a minimum, include all
single family and condominium homes.
SECTION II. The Carmel Board of Public Works and Safety shall have the power
to promulgate and enforce rules, regulations and specifications concerning the
removal of trash, yard waste, recycled materials and other garbage. Such rules,
regulations and specifications shall be in writing and shall not be effective until
approved by the Carmel Board of Public Works and Safety. Copies of such rules,
regulations and specifications shall be available to the public through the office of
the Clerk-Treasurer.
SECTION III. The Carmel Board of Public Works and Safety shall approve its
rules, regulations and specifications for trash removal and makes said rules,
regulations and specifications available to the public, through the office of the
Clerk-Treasurer, before it enters into any contractual agreement for trash removal.
SECTION IV. The Clerk-Treasurer is hereby directed to withhold payment for any
claims made for the services described herein until such time as the Carmel Board
of Public Works and Safety has approved and made available to the public, through
the office of the Clerk-Treasurer, the rules, regulations and specifications for the
contractual services described herein.
SECTION V. All prior ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with any
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION VI. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and signing by the Mayor.

17TH DAY OF APRIL, 1995.
