HomeMy WebLinkAboutD-804 1993 Salary OdinanceORDINANCE D-804 AN ORDINANCE FIXING SALARIES OF APPOINTED OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA FOR THE YEAR 1993 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA, THAT: Section 1. Def inition/Explanation: a. BW b. WK c. HR shall mean Bi-Weekly shall mean Weekly shall mean Hourly TO THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA I, the undersigned, Theodore E. Police Officers, Firefighters and Civilians shall receive one hundred and fifty dollars ($150.00) per year for longevity. That an employee must have been in the full employ of the City of Carmel a minimum of six months during a year to receive a year's credit on longevity remuneration which shall be added to their above salaries on an individual basis at a rate of $150.00 per year up to twenty years. Section 3. That the appointed members of the Plan Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Cable TV Advisory Committee be paid the sum of $35.00 per regular scheduled meeting attended. Appointed members of the Planning Commission shall receive and additional $35.00 per standing sub-committee meeting. Section 4. That the appointed members of the Board of Public Works and Safety be paid a salary of $2,470.00 per year. In addition to the salary, the members of the Board of Public Works and Safety shall be paid $35.00 per meeting attended. Section 5. That the city employees of the Department of Community Development shall be entitled to receive the sum of $35.00 per meeting, as additional compensation for attending each regularly scheduled meeting of the Plan Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, or their respective committees. Such additional compensation shall be paid from the budgets of the Plan Commission Board of Zoning Appeals. Section 6. That the compensation for overtime worked shall be paid to employees according to the policies of the City of Carmel and shall be in addition to amounts herein specified. Section 7. That First Class Patrolmen and Firefighters salaries as stated in this Ordinance shall be used as the base salary for purposes of pension calculations. Section 8. That police officers exempted from Social Security may receive an identical percentage of their salaries as determined for Social Security as an additional compensation which may be deferred. Section 9. That the firefighters who work a holiday shall receive Seventy Five Dollars ($75.00) for that holiday shift which encompasses the 8:00 a.m. until midnight portion of that holiday. Section 10. That the Carmel Clay Communications Center telecommunicators shall be given a clothing allowance of $400.00 per year; Said clothing allowance shall be for the sole purpose of providing a uniform not useable in any fashion other than as a telecommunicator for the Carmel Clay Communications Center. Section 11. That the Carmel Metropolitan Police Department officers shall be given a clothing allowance of $750.00 per year; Two checks per year will be issued to each officer, one in the first pay of February and one in the last pay of July. Each check would be in the amount of $375.00. Section 12. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approve according to law.
