HomeMy WebLinkAboutD-857 Hydrant MetersAN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 9, ARTICLE 2, SECTION 9-75, OF THE CARMEL CITY CODE ENTITLED "HYDRANT METERS." WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Camel, Indiana has determined that provisions regulating the use, metering and installation of meters on fire hydrants are in the best interest of the City of Camel; NOW, THEREEFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL, OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: Section I. Chapter 9, Article 2, Section 9-75 of the Camel City Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 9-75. Hydrant Meters. (a) No person shall use or collect Camel Water Company water from any fire hydrant without a metering device approved by the Camel Water Company. (b) Hydrant meters may be installed on fire hydrants at the discretion of the Camel Water Utility when conditions warrant for the purpose of supply of water to any sites. Such installation shall be supervised by the Carmel Water Utility. Deposit Fees: 5/8" x 3/4" hydrant meter 1" hydrant meter 11/2" hydrant meter 3" hydrant meter $ 40.00 $ 50. oo $ 75. oo $100.00 (c) A violation of this Section shall be deemed an ordinance violation and any person violating this section shall be subject to a fine of not less than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00). Section II. All prior Ordinances, resolutions or parts thereof inconsistent with any provision of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Section III.
