AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 9,
ARTICLE 2, SECTION 9-68, OF THE
CARMEL CITY CODE BY THE INCLUSION OF
SUBSECTIONS (b) AND (c) , ENTITLED
"REGULATIONS OF JUMPERS - PERMISSION REOUIRED."
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Camel, Indiana has
determined that a provision for metering usage resulting from the
authorized installation of a jumper or other device by persons or
companies is necessary;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL, OF THE
CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. Chapter 9, Article 2, Section 9-68, of the Camel
City Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 9-68. Regulations of Jumpers-Permission Required.
(a) No person shall install a jumper or any other
device in a service line for the purpose of obtaining
unmetered water for any reason without express written
permission of, and use of jumpers installed by the
Camel Water Utility.
(b) No person shall use or collect Carme1 Water
Company water from any source without a metering device
approved by the Carmel Water Company.
(c) A violation of this section shall be deemed an
ordinance violation and any person violating this
section shall be subject to a fine of not less than One
Hundred Dollars ($100.00).
Section II- All prior Ordinances, resolutions or parts thereof
inconsistent with any provision of this Ordinance are hereby
repealed.
Section III. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and signing by the Mayor.
