AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 9,
ARTICLE 3, SECTION 9-174, SUBSECTION (c),
OF THE CARMEL CITY CODE ENTITLED
"DELINOUENT ACCOUNTS."
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana has
determined that Chapter 9, Article 3, Section 9-174, Subsection (c)
concerning the recovery of costs and expenses incurred in collecting
delinquent accounts,=should be amended;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL, OF THE
CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. Chapter 9, Article 3, Section 9-174, Subsection (c),
of the Carmel City Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 9-174 (c) .
(c) Submission of any delinquent account to any
attorney or appointed utility employee for collection
shall entitle the City of Carmel to recover reasonable
attorney's fees, lien costs or court costs or any other
expenses incurred by the City of Carmel in the
collection process.
Section II. All prior Ordinances, resolutions or parts thereof
inconsistent with any provision of this Ordinance are hereby
repealed. =
Section III. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and signing by the Mayor.
